Help in finding a top

I have a formal occasion to attend in a week. I've got the perfect top but it's now 2 sizes too small. It's years old so wouldn't still be in stock at the shop I bought it from.

So, I'm looking for something very similar but can't seem to find anything. A long shot but I s there an app or something where you upload a picture of a garment and it searches for something similar?

Don't know of one.

Do you want to post a pic of it here and we can all look for something similar. And what size are you after, because so many things seem to be in limited sizes at the moment.

Google Lens could be worth a shot, it's not really an app specifically made for finding clothes but it can be used as such. If you post a few good picture of your own top, I can run it through and see what comes up. Modelling shots from retailers can also be useful.

Thank-you!

I'm probably size 14 now. I've put a sheet of paper inside so you can see the neck detail
Colour is black, faun and cream.

Google lens hasn't come up with the best results, these are the best matches but not all that useful. As it's a homemade picture you get similar looking pictures, so often secondhand listings in these instances:

similar Principles top

cheap but the shipping from the US makes this a wasted effort (also no idea what size it is, I'm guessing it's a plus size range)

If you want the exact same top you're probably best off looking through Vinted, eBay and Depop. If you want something similar, it might be challenging, that latte colour scheme isn't around much anymore, v necks with stripes are scarce as well but you might still find some of those. If you can be specific about what you like so much about the current top then it's easier to suggest alternatives.

Thanks Botemp. I'll look at Vintage etc

I'm looking for a v neck which is sharp and crisp looking. It's to wear under a suit

So quite fitted? Does it need to have a bit of interest with some sort of pattern or can it be plain? Similar colour to the original? And does it need to be petite as I think your current top is?

sewbrilliant13 · 16/10/2021 18:21

I'm pretty sure that there's a feature where you can do that on the asos app :)

FleasInMyKnees · 16/10/2021 18:25

Do you want it cropped

juicyjanuary · 16/10/2021 18:45

Yes cropped, prefer stripes but faun or cream would be good. Could be plain, guess. Hmm, petite? Well I'm 5 ft 2 but still 14 of Nork these days with chunky arm so sleeved would be good. Needs to look crisp

Do you want a jumper or a Jersey type top

waltzingparrot · 16/10/2021 22:09

Would this work?

Would this work?
sorry, you'll need to find it on the UK site

juicyjanuary · 17/10/2021 00:51

waltzingparrot 'fraud that wouldn't work as too strapped if I had to take my suit jacket off. It's a formal context.

OP posts:
juicyjanuary · 17/10/2021 00:51

AuldAlliance I really like that too but it's not crisp enough

juicyjanuary · 17/10/2021 00:52

If a jumper, it'd have to be lightweight

OP posts:
gunnersgold · 17/10/2021 07:47

It looks like a basic stripe jumper to me , what do you like about it so much that you want in something new ?

juicyjanuary · 17/10/2021 08:24

The design is clean cut. It's cut and fit are crisp, no fuzzy softness. It's close fitting. The 3 bars at the top take the eye away from my large breasts and the faun, cream and black suit my colouring.

I might just have to lose some weight though only gave a week and a half now to do it
