Do Clarks rebrand their shoes?

I don't live in the UK and have a store near to me that sells what I assume is end of range / stock from bankrupted companies / rejects etc. They buy in job lots of clothes and shoes. Many are from UK and EU. I recognize many of the brand names (Primark, Sainsburys, Asda) to name a few.

Today I saw a load of Clarks shoes. Brogue type style. So I looked at a few pairs in same style but different colours and noticed some pairs of the same shoe had different labels inside. Some I don't know at all, but one of them was COS.

So now I'm wondering if Clarks make for other stores and rebrand them, or could they be fakes and they have just been labelled with another brand.

They could well be fake as to be honest as I have no idea where everything comes from. But they did look like decent quality, just the different labels made me wonder.

I didn't buy them. But I was tempted to.

We do have the odd Clarks store here, but I don't know COS.

They will make shoes for other retailers, yes. With the retailers branding on it

Cos are more expensive than Clark’s, although it’s possible the same factory in Asia makes both brands along with some of the others you saw.

Gosh COS does have lovely clothes on their site.

All of them coming from the same factory does make sense. Maybe that whole batch was rejected. So if you see Clarks looking shoes on the Cos site , it might just be cheaper to buy them from Clarks. Smile.

From this same outlet I have found a few cashmere jerseys as well, so I do like to have a good rummage when I go. And I may go back for the shoes, I was just concerned they may be fakes.

While back toast had brogues that were Clarks and RRP was higher
It’s reasonably common for a manufacturer to make for another retailer to sell as own their own brand
