Knee high boots

Black, size 8

Formal and smart with a glimmer of an edge.
I have slim claves, don't want a high heel, mid to low or flat.

Found the perfect pair on JTB but they've just refunded me as out of stock even tho the website still has them showing.
Here they are- www.jonesbootmaker.com/products/leather-knee-high-boot-carm30516-316-577?variant=33232179626047

I've tried Hobbs, office, m&s and am now at a bit of a loss as it's not a usual sort of purchase for me being a DMs woman usually.

Where else can I look!

I have just bought the brown version of these and they are nice and comfy. I can’t wear heels and these are perfect.
Dune Ladies Women's TILDAS Buckle Strap Detail High Leg Boots Block Heel www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HVT19YP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BD2AA5Z0Z8GXCRNXT6H1?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

(They are sold out on the Dune website, hence me getting them from Amazon)

There are some really nice ones on brandalley, from Hudson. They have laces which will make them fit thinner calves and look very good quality. Only £75!

Nearlyadoctor · 15/10/2021 13:24

Depending on your budget Fairfax & Favor.

ZiaMcnab · 15/10/2021 13:30

Have you tried Clarks? Not the kind of place I'd normally shop, but I found some lovely ones there a few years ago that I absolutely lived in (and are still in great nick).

www.clarks.co.uk/c/Clarkdale-Hi/p/26161681 or www.clarks.co.uk/c/Hamble-High/p/26152233 might be worth a look

I find Duo good for boots, have bought several over the years -

I have these and they're so comfy but look fabulous too. Not cheap though, sorry!

Pavers always have a good choice

Askinvillarblues · 15/10/2021 16:50

These are beautiful? Mahogany not black, but they do them in black suede too (not sure re: narrow fit though). www.fairfaxandfavor.com/products/the-regina-mahogany-narrow-fit-leather-boot

These are a bit chunkier but a bit edgier!

LlamaofDrama · 15/10/2021 21:24

I have a gorgeous pair of Dune ones. Really comfortable and get loads of compliments on them.

Feetupteashot · 15/10/2021 21:32

Jones are v good for slim calf. Don't bother with clarks unless you have v small feet

RampantIvy · 15/10/2021 21:51

I tried on some lovely Gabor boots at Charles Clinkard the other day. They were very slim fitting.

MsIreneWinters · 16/10/2021 00:00

I have some from White Stuff which I wear lots.

BrownTableMat · 16/10/2021 06:25

I have just bought these and I’m very happy with them. I’d say they’re for medium sized calves, though, possibly even larger as they have some stretch, not for narrow calves.

JudyJudyJudyDench · 16/10/2021 07:49

@BrownTableMat they are lovely!!
I just tend to end up with baggy bits around my ankles-but they look quite sturdy?
I also like the duo boots a lot!
I've ventured for these ... https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/dune-london/dune-pixie-boot-ladies-233791?google&cqsrc=googleeads&cqcmp=11596324548&cqqterm=&cqplac=&cqqnet=g&cqplt=gp&gclid=CjwKCAjwzaSLBhBJEiwAJSRoktft66f4rPWFW39Ae2VNtElHktasOGR54b98Nec5usRkzFMcIQC3tRoCk5IQAvDDBwE#colcode=23379103
But they may be too fussy for me in real life-I find black boots hard to tell from studio lit photos-they sort of flatten don't they.

Thanks for all your help x will report back when the dune ones arrive
