I've Always Thought Hell Would Freeze Over Before I Bought Dungarees But....

Due to side effects of Tamoxifen for breast cancer I need a hysterectomy. It's going to be robotic and will be having scars on my stomach.

Looking for jersey as it's so soft. I'm 5' 9". Size 8/10 pear shaped long bodied.

I quite like these. Is there anything else anyone can recommend? Budget up to £100. Not sure I will wear them much after recovery.

TIA

I have some black cord ones from Next, bought them after Gallbladder removal as had cuts in bellybutton, bra line between boobs and 2 more on right side of abdomen so everything with a waist line was uncomfortable.

I really like them, so comfy and easy to wear.

Beyond nine, they are maternity but are OK if not pregnant or whitestuff selina jumpsuit which I have, it's so comfy and flattering sorry can't do links!

These aren’t jersey but they are such a soft comfortable cotton. Might be easier to style with boots for winter compared to Jersey ones. I’m wearing them now Smile

I also have some cord ones from Zara (not current season) which would fit your brief. I’m long bodied too but the adjustable straps have meant that’s not an issue.

Flowers I hope your operation goes well and you recover quickly.

Really love my Lucy and Yak corduroys in the original style. So very soft and no waste band or anything that rubs/creates pressure on the abdomen.
I wear them over Uniqlo heattech jersey tops and find they don’t ride up under the dungas

Thanks everyone for some great options. I really want jersey so ended up buying these.

I used to think the same but last month I bought some Lucy and Yak dungarees just to try - I love them and am now eyeing up another pair. Not so keen on the bright colours though. I have black and would like some green cord ones.

@prettypinkflamingo I have Green Bay cords and find it works well as a neutral colour so very easy to wear.

@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell I'm so tempted and the Klarna option makes it even easier. Argh!

I think that Alyson Walsh has recommended those @Mercurial123.

I'm a happy dungaree wearer and can recommend the Lucy & Yak ones and their carmen boilersuit is only elasticated at the back

KirstenBlest thanks. Just read the article from 11 September. She really suits them and she says quality is good. Looking forward to trying them.

I think she gets the clothes right. I'm in the right age-group I suppose and find them a bit 'middle-aged' and 'safe' but can imagine someone much younger wearing them.

Regardless of what my politics are I am a torygraph reader, and don't really 'get' Lisa Armstrong's style but I do Alyson's

Good luck with the surgery and treatment @Mercurial123

Not jersey but I also recommend Lucy and Yak. The corduroy or the cotton originals with a long sleeved t shirt underneath are such a comfy outfit and, as a bonus, get a whole lot of compliments.

Another vote for Lucy and Yak.
Best dungarees ever. I’ve had so many compliments from total strangers when wearing mine.
And I’m a large sized, post-menopausal woman, so it really boosts my confidence.

I usually get compliments or get asked where I got mine especially if I'm wearing my unique ones

Hahahah I live in dungarees!!!

Fat face are good for denim ones but my fave cord ones are from Run and Fly

I'm 43 next week and I don't care. I rock them 😁😁😁

I’ve got two pairs of jersey dungarees from ASOS.
Super comfy and about £25.

ColleysMill · 15/10/2021 20:39

Oh and personally I like to wear a bodysuit under mine. Long or short sleeved - stops the issue of tops scrunching up underneath them

Have you got any?

In my experience, they will be polyester or mainly polyester and of poor quality.

I have a super comfortable pair from Thunder Egg. The only caveat is that they are a "one size fits all" type - at 12/14 and 5ft3 I'm probably just in the middle of the size range so they fit me well, but I can't imagine them fitting everyone. They are cotton jersey.

I bought some v similar (perhaps a bit nicer Grin) for £29!

I see they're now £35 but you can get 20% - v soft and much more useful than I thought.

Good luck with your treatment (and dungaree hunt) op
