Morning all

I had a one off breakout about a month ago, and was prescribed epidural gel, which is 0.1% adapalene (a retinoid) and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. I applied it at night for five nights.

The acne cleared up within five days, it was miraculous. I noticed that as well as the acne going, so we’re many of my fine lines (I am 46 and look it). I think this was down to the retinoid.

The cream left me with loads of dryness and sensitivity to heat and sun, so I stopped using it after the acne went away, and sure enough, the sensitivity went away within about ten days.

The acne hasn’t come back. I do have the odd spot and an oily nose, not what I’d call acne though, so I haven’t used the cream.

But I quite liked the way it got rid of my lines temporarily and I wondered whether I could use the cream less often (so that I don’t have the sensitivity, but have the anti-ageing benefits. Like once a week or something? Has anyone done this please, and would this be sensible? I know nothing about retinoids or how to introduce them but wow, the cream was like a miracle.
