Need smart dress for DD14

My DFIL is turning 90 and he has booked a dinner at his club in London (basically a smart restaurant) for all the family. We need to sort out what DD will wear. Like many 14 year-olds her style is a little on the revealing side, and although she recognises this isn’t appropriate for this kind of gathering she is still bookmarking dresses on Shein that are quite short and tight.

I may sound a snob but I’d like to discourage Shein in any event - clothes that come that cheap do have a hidden cost - but does anyone have suggestions of reasonably priced dresses your average (5’4”, size 8-10) 14 year old will wear for a special occasion? Hoping to spend no more than £50 but will entertain any suggestions.

Thanks!

Topshop at ASOS has some really great dresses. I'm also a fan of Never Fully Dressed.

Top shop is great or maybe Coast if the budget allows? For a high class place I always go by the rule that it's either short or tight but not both- usually leads to some smart enough choices

How does she feel about fit and flare silhouette? It might be easier if you give her specific parameters to search within.
Any of these possibles, or far too old-fashioned for her?
Leopard mini
Floaty lace
Blue puffy

Chichi London is where I got 2 dresses for my 13.5yo this year - wedding guests so not dissimilar remit.

Something like this maybe?

Have a look at Ted Baker
I got DD a lovely skirt and top from there at a similar age for a Christening
