Ankle boots for skinny legs/ankles

Remmy123 · 10/10/2021 10:21

I love the dresses with tights and ankle boot look but my legs/ankles are skinny so my legs end up looking like golf clubs.

Any ideas on type of boots I can wear or maybe I'll have to wear socks over the tights to pad it out a bit?

Thanks

Following- I’m thinking of going for lace ups as Chelsea type boots definitely make my legs look like golf clubs too!

Yes lace up might be a better option as you can tighten them up! I need smaller feet

I have the same problem and have been wondering about getting sock boots. I haven't actually tried any on yet though so following this thread with interest.

I have the same issue. I wear shortish socks over the tights, just sort of peeping out of the boot tops. In the same colour as the tights. But I'm hoping someone else will provide a solution to the golf club problem.

Glad I'm not the only one!!

Have same issue with knee night boots they look like wellies!!

Sock boots are supposed to be a good option for skinny ankles?

AuldAlliance · 10/10/2021 12:25

Yep, wellies are a problem here, too.

I had one pair of knee high boots with straps and buckles at the top, from a French shop, that didn't make me look as though I'd forgotten to change after milking Daisy, but they got badly scuffed.

I have occasionally wondered about boots like these but never quite got round to trying. (Sorry for link, am in France.)

I just stick to the ankle boots with socks thing.
Or avoid dresses and skirts, but that's a bit crap.

I have this problem. I've found that sock boots have generally been good for my little ankles in previous years, but I wouldn't really consider them in style at the moment. At least not the ones I have.

The only other ones I've found that work well for me are ones that lace up and / or have laces up the front and zips up the size. My search for the perfect pair is still going after 3 years because I have quite short legs, so my calf is shorter and most boots come up too high on my calf and sit at the widest part of my calf which just looks silly. I need a lower cut boot and they're quite hard to find

Sooverthemill · 10/10/2021 13:17

My issue is the length of 'ankle' boots as my inside leg is 25 and they are usually too high up

Remmy123 · 10/10/2021 13:24

Sock boots fall down on my legs then look all bunched up!!

😬

Just a little tip I got off YouTube for hiking boots but I use it all the time in trainers etc m...
If you wind the laces through an extra time at before doing the bow loops you can tie the shoe section tight and it fixes it in place, then the top bit being loose doesn't matter so much. That's really hard to describe!!

Google tells me it's called a surgeons knot...

Can’t help with ankle boots but fairfax and favor have narrow fit boots that are gorgeous!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 10/10/2021 22:30

Perfect for skinny ankles (and ski's for feet) 😂
