Stylish trousers in a size 16 - COS?

Just for background, my style tends to be jeans, cami top and loose coloured blazer. I want to wear trousers instead but something a bit cooler, think Reiss cropped trousers. However trousers never seem to flatter me so I've avoided them till now. I'm sure people have recommended Cos for the material and style before but couldn't remember. Any thoughts on where to try? Ideally navy I would say, this is for work so I want to look professional yet cool. Think Reiss but hopefully a bigger size! I tend to wear a 16 to keep things looser.

Boden Hampshire. Ponte material so stretchy. I have straight and bootcut and I love them. Holy Grail trouser.

PS Reiss- I am about to send back a £215 blouse. Viscose, threads dangling everywhere. Nice designs, quality has plummeted. They're taking the piss.

@Geamhradh looks great, how is the sizing? I try and convince myself I'm a 14 but don't want to look tight. I love the styling on Reiss but quality isn't amazing.

Would a matching blazer look too dated?

In Boden, M&S and Next, I'm a 12
In most others I'm a 14.
I'd say true to pre-vanity sizing.

I'm astonished by the Reiss top. I was prepared to pay a lot (for me) because it was dd's 18th but it's shocking.

Any thoughts which one is nicer?

Aside from being a Hampshire lover (but I'd go for the full length - I have a pair of 7/8 and a pair of full length and just prefer them) I'm not keen on pleated front trousers.

Eesha · 10/10/2021 09:59

@Geamhradh I quite like quirky outfits rather than classic and will be wearing flats so not sure full length will work

what's the difference between Hampshire and Richmond in Boden?

Richmonds are sort of cotton. Bit like Chino material (but loads better)
Hampshires are heavier jersey ponte fabric.
Both are stretchy, but the Hampshire keeps its shape. My main issue with Richmonds is the baggy knee after you've sat in them for a bit.
