What boots with wide leg trousers?

I've got a funeral to go to soon and will be travelling light. Black wide leg trousers should see me through the couple of days I'm there. I'll travel in trainers but want to wear boots to the funeral.

Any ideas what style might be suitable?

It’s tricky isn’t it. I’ve been thinking the same. I wear mine with trainers normally

What sort of boots do you normally wear?

I would be drawn to a chunky chelsea boot but not sure how that would look for a funeral.

My usual boots tend to be biker style. I do have some chelsea boots but they look weird on me even without the added quandary of wide leg trousers. I do have a chunky heeled pair in storage but that would mean an extra journey when I'm already pushed for time.
