Hair Extensions for Thickness?

I'm seriously considering some extensions, but not sure where to start? My hair is already longish (just above my bust and I'm aiming to grow it to just below).

I don't really want extensions for length (although I wouldn't mind gaining a couple of inches). I just really to improve the thickness of my hair, which lacks density and I can only see that getting worse as I get older (I'm 37).

I have naturally wavy hair and I don't tend to blow dry it - I used a bit of mousse and let it air dry. I'd want hair that matches my natural texture as closely as possible so I don't have to straighten or faff around with it too much.

Any suggestions of where to look and what sort of extensions would be best would be hugely appreciated. Also any specific salon recommendations (I'm in Oxfordshire nearish to Oxford).

Thanks!

I have had all the different types of extensions, for length and for thickness. Honestly if your hair is not as thick as you like now extensions will only make that worse. I have had the very best and looked after them, but they still cause hair loss. My go to these days is a halo hair piece that you can wear or not, comfy and can’t be seen, lots of colours to choose from.

@Badgerloco

Thanks for the reply. I have heard mixed things about the damage extensions can cause. I'd obviously go somewhere reputable, but I guess it is still a concern.

Where do you get your Halo from? Are they really as easy as they look (I'm awful with hair and can barely do a plait!).

@MoonCowbag I wear extensions a lot, my hair is short around the face so I just put some Nano Beads. I go right to the top of my head so it blends all throughout my layers.

Sometimes I have them all over my head because my hair is quite short so I have it long!

My advice would be, is don't worry about balding etc I've been putting nano beads in for years and my hair has never fell out or been ruined from them. I trained my partner through YouTube to do the extensions at the back.

Saved myself a fortune over the years!!

The halo is so easy. If you can put a pony tail in you can use a halo. My hair breaks easily even when in good condition so it’s so much better for me. The nano beads ripped my hair. Glue was better, but you still shed some hair from each extension, and when your hair is on the thin side already it’s not great. Best to get the halo from their official website as lots of fake about. The quality is great.

I’ve got tape extensions for thickness, not had any damage to my hair, if anything the Condition has improved as I wash/dry/straighten much less than I used to as I always felt my hair looked a bit flat before.
