Under eye skin like crepe paper

KittenKong · 07/10/2021 07:45

In the mornings I generally look like my face needs a good iron!

Especially under the eyes where the skin is ‘baggy’. It tends to get better over the day but looks like I’ve been crying I suppose...

Is there any magic solution?

Following for same advice!

Lanique · 07/10/2021 08:02

Yes, botox!

TaraSiligel · 07/10/2021 08:04

Something with Hyaluronic Acid in.

KittenKong · 07/10/2021 08:14

Won’t that make the skin thin? It’s quite papery.

What are you using at the moment?

SummerOfComedy · 07/10/2021 08:21

I used to wake up with puffy, wrinkled skin under and around my eyes every morning.
I've used different eye creams which only made matters worse for me.

Then I treated myself to a silk pillowcase and it's made such a difference to the puffiness and my complexion in general.
Didn't think it would work, but it does.

KittenKong · 07/10/2021 08:28

So if I get silk sheets I’ll wake up with the smooth body of a 20 year old?!Wink

Silk pillowcase and silk eye mask

Ozanj · 07/10/2021 08:46

Drink water, reduce salt, get more sleep, use a good quality eye cream, get the basics right first before considering plastic surgery

KittenKong · 07/10/2021 08:47

Oh my got I wouldn’t go down the surgery root!my mum was the same. I though it was because she had heart problems and kidney failure.

Cold spoon from the fridge?

Hullbilly · 07/10/2021 18:42

L'oreal revitalift is good and only about £6. I can notice a difference a day later.

TaraSiligel · 08/10/2021 00:50

Hyaluronic Acid retains almost 50 times its own weight in water. It is also a facilitator for other active ingredients.

This is the best way to plump up the skin. And safe for the eye area.

urbanbuddha · 08/10/2021 02:42

Eye cream? There have been a couplè of threads about it lately.
I use Boots Botanics hydrating but it's not showing on the website atm. Garnier Ultra Lift eye cream is also good.

MarleneDietrichsSmile · 08/10/2021 07:43

For me a lot of it was down to allergens (puffy creepy eyes), now a lot better as I take ceterizine

KittenKong · 08/10/2021 07:46

Honest to god, I look like I’ve got 2 large wine gums stuck to my face this morning. Not good.

Water
Silk pillowcase
Watch some beauty guru videos on eye creams- Nadine Baggott, Sali Hughes etc. Essentially an eye cream with something to depuff will do a bit. (As will a cold teabag or slice of cucumber) An eye cream with light reflecting bits will hide your shadows (as will your £2 concealer/corrector)
Most serums (unless they contain actives, but really acids should be used separately anyway) and moisturizer can be taken up to the eyes.
Hyaluronic acid needs to be applied to damp skin as it attracts the moisture to itself from elsewhere, otherwise it has the opposite effect and slurps the moisture from your skin. But yes, cheap as chips.

£80 eye cream? They're taking the piss.

Nadine recommends a couple for temporary effects. An Olay one iirc .

KittenKong · 08/10/2021 08:01

Ok so looking at a pillow cover and some cream - what’s a good one? When I start looking I just see so many ones, I get confused!

Caffeine is very effective for puffiness

A gel, like REN eye gel helps with crepiness

But for me, the best thing is Dom exercise in the fresh air

Nothing gives my face a pep like my early morning dog walks, always gets my face back to “alive looking” Grin

KittenKong · 08/10/2021 14:32

Ok so I have started using an inset eye cream (that id forgotten I had ordered) and it fees .... cool and tingly!

I suspect you won’t recognise me tomorrow...😎
