Need some new jeans, it sounds so simple but I'm struggling to find what I want. So I'm a curvy 14 with a tummy so high waist are out, I want straight leg that I can turn up that have a nice mid colour, I saw some I think from M and Co but they have been discontinued. Any recommendations.

Marks and Spencers have a good range of jeans, lots of choice rise and leg shape.

IShoveLula · 06/10/2021 20:02

Try M&S. Their range of jeans is good.
These ones?

IShoveLula · 06/10/2021 20:03

or these?

IShoveLula · 06/10/2021 20:04

Or any of these

Imtoooldforallthis · 06/10/2021 20:51

The colour of the first one is the nearest but they look like they could go soft and baggy on the knee.

Try Fat Face. I have some jeans from there and I was pleasantly surprised.

Paquitalaflor · 07/10/2021 10:44

I too am in jeans hell. I have too many specific requirements. I don't want high waist, or even what most high street shops consider to be mid waist as these still go up way past my belly buttom. I need petite or short. And I don't like skinny jeans. I have on pair that I LOVE - an old pair of Gap sexy bootcut in 14 short. They don't make these anymore.
I just bought 4 pairs from Fat Face online in two sizes. They were all awful - were supposed to be slim but looked like boyfriends jeans - baggy on the waist and tapered. I bought some from the Gap (all too high) and from Lands End, all too high.
I think I have bought every single pair of jeans from M&S and the waistbands are all too high. If you look at those jeans that are linked - look at the amount of material between the crotch and the waistband!!! They are soooo long.
I search Ebay from time to time to try and find straight or bootcut petite jeans. But this is usually pointless because as we know, waist size or dress size can mean a helluva lot of difference between brands.
Have jeans depression.

I am resigned to wearing leggings.

Lifeisawillow · 07/10/2021 11:09

Have you tried these ? Proper mid rise, come in different lengths and ni e on the leg - a slim/straight cut. Good value.

@Paquitalaflor, look for the Gap sexy bootcuts on auction sites like ebay. You'll probably get them for next to nothing. I have some but in my size and I will wear them. Love Gap jeans and have several. Once I figured out my size I bought a few and won't let fashion trends decide what I wear

Paquitalaflor · 07/10/2021 11:31

Too true @ILoveShula, I am not fussed on trends, just want to be comfy! Will keep looking on Ebay - might even set up an alert for my favourites. I know the tide is changing in the jeans world so I have my fingers crossed that there will be even more choice soon!

Imtoooldforallthis · 07/10/2021 13:18

Those next ones might be worth a try.

OneMillionSteps · 07/10/2021 13:36

The Next slim jeans are my favourite- very flattering

Paquitalaflor · 07/10/2021 15:35

Ordered those Next ones - fingers crossed!

NorthernLion · 07/10/2021 15:40

And/Or jeans from John Lewis are surprisingly flattering - I've got a second pair of the Silverlake jeans.

(I'm an old Gap Sexy Bootcut fan too! I expect they'll reintroduce them when skinny flares inevitably come back in to fashion but they'll be called something totally different and won't be quite as good.)

I actually think high wasted is better if you have a tummy. I find it helps tuck my mum tum in a bit. If you get ones with a bit of stretch in them, they don't cut you in half like the stiff ones do.

Next Lift Slim and Shape ones are good, and also not too high on the waist.

lindyloo57 · 07/10/2021 16:31

@Paquitalaflor you want oasis scarlet jeans, you'll find them on ebay, they are a small bootcut and are mid waisted.

Imtoooldforallthis · 07/10/2021 16:53

I didn't like the slim and lift, high waist ones don't sit right and I end up with a baggy crotch!!!

OP posts:
Paquitalaflor · 07/10/2021 21:43

@lindyloo57 those oasis jeans look like the perfect shape!!!!! Thank you so much. I have already bought a pair on Ebay

Greyhare · 07/10/2021 21:55

I just brought some M&S Jeans as they are mid rise rather than high waisted, they were Lily and Sienna, both fit really nicely and no crotch hanging round my knees.

lindyloo57 · 07/10/2021 22:31

@Paquitalaflor I hope they fit and you like the style, I used to wear them back in the 2000 I wore a size 8 then, now 11 years later I wear a10 so I gave my size 8s away, I managed to buy 3 pairs on ebay recently .

SusannaOwens · 07/10/2021 23:20

Glad I'm not the only high waisted jeans hater here, I'm 5'10 for goodness sake and they are often too high and uncomfortable. I'm sure someone shorter would be able to tuck their boobs into them.
I have M&S Lily and they are still slightly too high, also have M&S mens, which are nice. I have some Next mid rise which are OK, not fab, but OK.

noodlezoodle · 08/10/2021 02:42

I have the Marks Sophia jeans and they don't bag out at the knee or bum - they are stretchier than I would normally like, but given that I'm... ahem... currently a bit more well-upholstered than normal, I need the stretch and they're very comfy.

sheepdreams · 08/10/2021 04:19

I wear petite jeans from Wallis. Very comfortable and flattering. Only ones that fit me properly.

Paquitalaflor · 08/10/2021 13:21

@Imtoooldforallthis Holy grail alert!!! Just got a pair of G Star Midge Skinny Bootcut! Game changer. A lot more than I would usually spend of jeans (£80) but worth it. They are high at the back (no gapping) on my belly button at the front and come in different lengths. Got them from Next (other retailers are of course available)

Nuffaluff · 08/10/2021 13:26

I’m carrying a little more weight than I would like at the moment and it’s mostly around my tummy. I agree with a higher waist feeling more comfortable for me with a tummy. Flattering too.
I needed some new jeans and got Sophia straight in a size 14 from marks. They’re really comfortable and look good. Today I got lily slim in black and they were a size 12. Very slimming so I’m happy.
