Sweater; what do you think?

Is this sweater really nice or just too much detail/pattern/colours?
I can't decide and it's too expensive to make a mistake.
It's really good quality but I'm not sure. I need a good warm sweater but maybe something plainer?

Sorry but I’m not keen on it. It does seem expensive for what it is.

DrNo007 · 06/10/2021 01:51

I like it. Good quality wool is expensive these days, which is ludicrous when you consider how many sheep there are in some parts of the country and how fleeces are considered so worthless that farmers burn them (at least I heard this was the case some years ago, not sure if it still is).

greendressblueshoes · 06/10/2021 01:53

It's not the price that's bothering me as its really good quality wool and I keep my clothes for ages, but is it too busy?

Yes I think it’s too busy. Something plainer would give you more options plus might be cheaper.

immersivereader · 06/10/2021 01:55

I like it personally. It's a bit busy but not too flash or anything.

It'd go with jeans/cords/chinos..

DrNo007 · 06/10/2021 02:08

No not too busy but I would wear with plain lower half clothing, not another pattern. It would go nicely with jeans.

Rainbows89 · 06/10/2021 03:01

I don’t like it. I want to like it but it doesn’t quite work. I think it’s the paler bit by the neck that doesn’t work too well.

Toast had a lovely green jumper a bit like that but much nicer.

Rainbows89 · 06/10/2021 03:04

This is the one I’m thinking of but it’s more than double unfortunately.

I absolutely love it.
Can’t afford it or else I would buy it to wear it with my khaki leather pencil skirt.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 06/10/2021 03:55

I think if your dominant colouring is warm then it works. Otherwise the yellow might seem a bit off.

Kiitos · 06/10/2021 08:29

I quite like it but I think the design is odd. Kind of looks like it’s on inside out?
I don’t think it would be particularly versatile though.

DGFB · 06/10/2021 20:21

Too busy, Celtic and Co have more beautiful jumpers

nordica · 06/10/2021 20:26

I wear a lot of colours and patterns so busy isn't generally a problem for me, but I don't like this. I actually prefer plain knitwear to pair with patterned tops, skirts or dresses usually.

If you like it then obviously go for it - it's not awful in any way if that is what you're asking.

RunnerDown · 06/10/2021 20:27

I tried that jumper on . It was an earlier edition in different colours. I had loved it online for ages - but in real life it was a disappointment. Maybe it just didn’t suit my shape but I felt the fit was a bit odd and it didn’t look the way I expected

nordica · 06/10/2021 20:28

I much prefer this one: www.celticandco.com/womens/clothing/jumpers/statement-donegal-jumper?colourID=753

KILNAMATRA · 06/10/2021 20:32

I’ve had a few Aran sweaters, hoodies etc and one mistake with the wash (blame DH here) and it’s 1/4 the size…they’re gorgeous but how will these wash?

IShoveLula · 06/10/2021 20:40

It's not expensive for what it is. It's good quality yarn and donegal jumpers aren't cheap.
Does it suit you?

IShoveLula · 06/10/2021 20:42

@nordica's link is better
The fossil colourway is very tempting

Nanasueathome · 06/10/2021 20:45

The Toast one is £185 on the uk website
