Bag to hold A4 notebook and textbooks

I've just started studying again at the grand old age of 39. I have a very thick A4 size textbook and notebook to carry around and it would be handy if it could accommodate my laptop too.

I'm looking online but nothing grabbing me-clearly I'm looking in the wrong places as seems to be an extreme of utilitarian black polyester zip laptop bags or Cath Kidston floral numbers. Ideally I'd like fairly plain, possibly black or tan. Budget not huge up to £75 for the perfect one.

Any links or ideas appreciated.

rokalondon.com might fit the bill?

I use a kanken rucksack in a pretty colour for my uni stuff.

I like Jack Wolfskin rucksacks. The Berkeley would fit all that in, but I think they do a similar, slightly smaller one too.

Jack Wills have a really great selection of backpacks on half price (or less) at the minute.

I picked this up for a bargain £14 down from £45!

It's light, flexible, well made and has a laptop sleeve. My DD has had a JW backpack for school for two years now and it still looks good so I have high hopes for mine.

I bought a Mia Tui rucksack send I'm really happy with it. It takes my laptop plus bits, A4 notebook and all the other gubbins and is comfortable to carry on my back when I've got a distance to walk. Also two waterbottle pockets. I got a bundle so a handbag thrown in free, free delivery, just under £50

Would this be big enough? A large waterproof shopper that’s pretty I destructible. I love mine.

I like a shopper as I find it’s easier to access, even though it’s worse for my bag.
