Handbag refurb recommendations.

Hi All

I've a pink Gucci handbag that is starting to look grubby and has finish missing at the corners. Can anyone suggest somewhere trustworthy to refurb it please?

I tried one of the main two firms (it has clinic in the name) last year for another bag and won't use them again. The one with "spa" in the name gets poor reviews.

There must be a company out there who can be trusted to do a decent job.

Have you looked at www.the-restory.com They have done a few bits for me and I was very impressed. Quite pricey but trustworthy and do a good job. I dropped off at Selfridges and they sorted it for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have messaged them and they have come back with a quote of £600.

I am aware of what work is needed and their quote is taking the mick. Intended for someone who either doesn't know or care what things cost.

Their Trustpilot profile echoes my experience.

I used this place for a corner piping refurb on a Mulberry Bayswater.

It was reasonable I think at about £75 for piping, covering over and colour matching.

I wouldn’t recommend Handbag Clinic. They wrecked a Chloe bag I sent them and didn’t give a damn about it. Still angry 5 years later 😂

Haven't used them but they've been around since the 1960s. Another one to check out anyway. Leather clothing specialist but they do bags too.

Thanks All

Whilst I won’t use the clinic again, the work that they completed was actually ok. If they had done all the work agreed, they would have refurbished a fairly battered bag for about 1/3 the price quoted by restory for a minor touch up.
