When is long hair too long?

I've varied from properly short to round about shoulder level for most of my adult life. It was just past shoulder level when the first lockdown hit..due a cut. 18m and a few trims ..later it's half way down my back.
For the first time ever I have definitely long hair!
But I'm also nearly 54...
It is in good condition, thick and healthy (albeit streaked with grey) and generally just in a plait for work (with kids) but I do wonder whether I'm judged as being too old for long hair?

I’m 56 and can sit on my hair. It’s the longest it’s been since I was a small child. I love it and it’s thick and healthy and looks good either up or down, plaited or in bunches. I don’t dye it except for some colours round the bottom sometimes just to ring the changes and I’m now white/grey.

@FindingMeno

There is no age or length limit for hair. If you are happy and feel good then that's all there is to consider.
This.

Not far off 40, and I get my own hair cut just above waist length. I have wavy hair (which I usually plait overnight,) and on the rare occasion I straighten it, it reaches my waist.

I wash once or twice a week, at most and use nice, deep, conditioning treatments and Olaplex hair oil. I also use a golden blonde shampoo a couple of times a month; rotate Davines Alchemic or Infuse my colour, as I think this helps with general condition and shine.

I had a shortish bob before lockdown, everyone (family, colleagues) told me it looked very good and that longer hair didn't suit people of my age (65). It grew to below shoulder length during lockdown and all of a sudden people were telling me how much it did suit me. Now I have had it tidied up, coloured (not ready for grey yet) and I know I look much better than I did with the sensible mum cut.
