Help with knee high boots

TartanCurtains · 03/10/2021 16:10

I need help please to find knee high boots! They must be:

Black
Low or flat (comfortable to walk in)
Wide calf, but not wide feet/ankles
Not stupidly wide at the top
Re-heelable
Decent quality zips
Last longer than a season (like Duo boots used to do in the old days)

Duo only have two pairs of flat black boots, and both are riding boots that are really wide at the top. This year's Hotter boots don't fit my calf, and while I haven't tried their wide fitting ones, I'm pretty sure they'll be too wide on my feet and ankles.

Has anyone actually seen something that meets these requirements in the flesh? I'll pay up to £250, but would be interested to hear if that's too little for what I want.

I feel your pain op, im after similar but in a tan colour. Had a lovely pair from next lasted 5 years or possibly longer, sadly no more 😭 i miss them & can't find any, it's worse than jeans shopping!!

John Lewis have a new line of wider leg boots designed by Erica Davies - not sure if any of those fit the bill?

Any other suggestions?! I've heard of the Erica Davies range and will take a look, but ideally I'd like something tried and tested.

I bought exactly those.
Sadly for you it was a shoe shop in Paris, Montparnasse about 10 years ago!

On their third resoling. I polish them with proper boot polish.

Worth searching for, they are out there!

Maybe try hotter?

Ooh, I know this one! I have big calves for my size and narrow ankles/feet. Ariat Sutton £200. Go half a size down.

I might be able to help if you don't mind doubling your budget. Grin These beautiful (and limited edition) boots from Tracey Neuls are super-soft and adjust to your calf/leg size whilst fitting normal (rather than wide) size feet.

I bought a pair last year and they sold out within days. She just re-released them. They're made in limited numbers so if you like them, don't hang about as they sell out fast.

I also just put the new colour in these (putty) and got the last pair in my size despite them only being released for sale a few days ago.

Expensive but very comfy, like all her shoes.

Watching, I want the same. Last pair was from simply be but they have closed their stores since and I want to try them on!

I have these issues too! I struggle to find something for wide legs but not wide feet. I hate when they slouch and gather at the ankle because they're too wide at that part!

To make it even harder I also have a tight budget to work with.

Last winter I wore an old pair with a broken zip on one boot, and had to regularly superglue to the top to the sole on the other boot. I just couldn't find anything suitable to replace them with!

Have a look at Pikolinos they may fit the bill and the quality is lovely.
