Hi,

I’m 38 with a 5 year old son and haven't been to a wedding since I was pregnant with him! I have no idea what my style is as I’ve slowly put on weight over the last 4 years (8 - large 12) and now live in jeans and t shirts.
I’m 5.2, size 12, pale with dark hair.

The wedding is at the end of October, quite small and not overly ‘posh’. With Christmas and both my husband and sons birthday coming up I don’t really want to spend more than £60.

I went into town yesterday but there doesn’t seem to be any shops left! Please could you help? Thanks so much in advance.

Hi @Dramateacher1. What's the dress code for the wedding? Garden Party, cocktail, semi-formal, formal, black tie...?

I like the green one you posted too - worth checking on Vinted or Depop to see if anyone is selling anything similar second hand, can usually get dresses for around a tenner (depending on brand) and lots of them still have tags on. Use filters (brand, size, colour, condition etc) to make it less overwhelming, you’d have ££ left in the budget for shoes then too

Try DLSB ( dirty little style bitch - yes that name is appalling and they probably regret it )
They do some really gorgeous and unusual items ( and I don’t mean mental, just different styles from other online shops where you feel like it’s the same thing over and over)
They’re dresses are usually £30-£40 and they’ve a Facebook groups called DLSB group or something ,and woman post themselves ( or ask for fit etc) so you can see them on.
Often woman are wearing them to weddings and birthdays. I’m 38 and I have a few items from them. Even better if you wait for a £20Tuesday event !

Move into partners home (no mortgage to pay as it was left by his parents) needs thousands spent as its old . House is to be left his only daughter (which I get) . I am not named on the house or have any rights. (I have 3 kids off my old marriage girl still lives with me- dad as our old house so thats there's for the future. Basically its not our home ,I do pay for bills, poll tax etc and any appliances that go wrong . Partner said I should help improve the property but I dont agree. I will happliy pay my way .Thoughts please.
