Jeans - help

I am 5.6 and have a new layer of lockdown lard which has taken me from a size 12 to a 16. Hopefully I'll shift it soon enough but in the meantime, I need some new jeans but I can't find what I want.

I want:

Low or mid rise - button fly would be nice but will take a zip

Boyfriend or straight but HAS to be loose in the leg - I have big thighs and calves - even at my thinnest and lightest they are exceptionally chunky to the point I've even wondered if I have mild lipedema.

Not cropped

Mid wash.

Up to £100 but ideally a bit less.

Help!

Hopeful bump

This is a really, really random suggestion, but in desperation I tried the mens jeans in the link. I'm sick of the current high waisted jeans, despite being tall a lot of them are over my belly button, so uncomfortable. Plus the fabric and pockets are horrible in many women's jeans.
So I tried some M&S men's jeans, they are fabulous, lovely soft thick fabric, proper pockets, teeny bit of stretch and they fit on the waist and hips (I assumed they would be big on the waist and small on hips). The waist is mid-rise, legs not too tight and only £30. I'm a 14 and bought a 34", although a 32" fitted too, but I preferred the 34".

SusannaM, I'm off to M&S to try on jeans tomorrow and I will be giving them a go in the blue/black colour. Thanks for the tip!

That is a GREAT shoult @SusannaM. They look exactly right in colour/style and if I can get them to fit I'll be bloody delighted. I'll report back.

Fingers crossed that they fit (there's also a slim fit that I dithered over, but opted for the straight leg). I love the vintage feel of the ones I've got. The pockets are fabulous - you can actually put things in them, as opposed to ¾ of your phone sticking out of pockets in women's jeans!

Sadly the men's jeans didn't work for me - I had a very odd crotch bulge 😁 I got a pair of mom jeans though and after a decade of skinnies, the comfort level is amazing!
