Need help with my little one’s hair please.

My 4 year old has curly hair and as mine is straight I struggle to know what to do to keep it in place. It’s between a wave and a curl and as is currently long tends to be weighed down a bit. We currently oil once a week and use leave in conditioner spray daily, wash twice a week.

I am after recommendations for products that will help her plaits stay in place for school. Have tried Cantu conditioner spray which is great for combing out but doesn’t do much for flyaways and frizz.

Thanks!

My 6 year old has hair that sounds very similar to your daughter's. We use VO5 gel spray - I spray it on and brush it through then plait it and they stay in all day. It's the only thing I've found that works for her hair!

Thank you, will look for it now - does it leave hair feeling hard or still brushable? Ideally don’t want to have to wash everyday

No that's one of the things I like about it, it is still soft and brushable and not crunchy!

Brilliant thanks!

KY jelly

:) ky jelly for real? oh my doesn't that stuff flake white?

EezyOozy · 02/10/2021 21:42

No, I have two curly daughters and follow the curly girl method: very little shampoo, mostly washing with conditioner, refresh daily with conditioner mixed with water. Often rake some KY jelly through (or the pound shop equivalent). Not flakey or crunchy , bouncy and shiny ✨
