That loose middle neck skin - does anything help?

That isn't ££££ and isn't surgery? I think I know the answer but...

Nothing helps. But a really rich, oily cream can take down some of the crepey appearance.

PrincessofPeeves · 02/10/2021 16:28

Thanks, I think I need to learn to love the crepe :-(

It’s life….

Prai neck cream
Face yoga
Nu Face
LED mask
Skin tightening radiofrequency facial
Keep to a good weight

no one said ageing was easy Grin

A scarf. I’ve accepted it 😂

My face at almost 60 is fabulous but fuck me, my neck’s had it. No idea why. They’ve both been treated well!

PrincessofPeeves · 03/10/2021 07:42

@HeraInTheHereAndNow I know, it's just so annoying!

Lots of scarves !

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 03/10/2021 07:50

Taken beginning of the year. Face good, neck waddle about to collapse. It’s worse now… all of a sudden.

You have great bones. No one will be looking at your neck with bones and lips like that!

PrincessofPeeves · 03/10/2021 09:03

I was about to say that too! You look great, you have a jaw! I look like a potato 😂 And your neck is really not an issue. Mine is quite fleshy, like a little pouch in the middle. Ah, age.

Scarves are the answer! 😉 And maybe lovely earrings to draw attention away from the neck! Don’t think there is a miracle cream, alas, but Liz Earle Superskin serum is really nice to use, www.lizearle.com/superskin-face-serum-30ml-pump/F33297.html and this Verde one is lovely. www.verde.co.uk/products/face/moisturise/neck-decollete-cream/
I did read about ‘tech neck’, and have been trying to be aware of positioning when looking at computer, phone and iPad, trying not to tilt my head down!

PrincessofPeeves · 03/10/2021 12:06

Ooh thanks for those, they look lovely and a bit more affordable than the Prai! I've also tried to combat tech neck - posture does help but it's only illusory!

You can improve the texture with retinol, salicylic acid cleansers etc.

You’d need to use sunblock afterwards though, every day.

mrssmiling · 03/10/2021 12:51

OP, have you read Nora Ephron’s ‘I Feel Bad About My Neck’?
She was such a wonderful writer, and in this collection of essays she writes perceptively and with humour about ageing. Worth reading.

Gosh thank you for this @mrssmiling - it looks great!

Prai neck cream & serum are good though you already look great, your neck really isn’t that bad or noticeable.

BigButtons · 03/10/2021 16:25

Face yoga works.
The foreo bear works
Massage works.
Creams will do sod all. It’s all about the platysma.

Gastropod · 03/10/2021 16:35

I put on a stone! Crepey neck disappeared...

Gatekeeper · 03/10/2021 17:07

Mine is HORRIBLE and there is bot all I can do about it as it's hereditary. Thank you dad for your big nose, Flat head, baggy eyes, dreadful teeth, weak chin, non existent jawline and turkey neck!!!!

Gatekeeper · 03/10/2021 17:08

Wish those thin polo necks from the 70s would come back

Gatekeeper · 03/10/2021 17:09

Oh and sloping forehead as well. Bums...

MarleneDietrichsSmile · 03/10/2021 21:04

@GatekeeperGatekeeper your dad must have the loveliest personality to have pulled your mum (with that description GrinWink)

PrincessofPeeves · 03/10/2021 21:10

@Gatekeeper you've described me! Welcome, twin Grin

@PrincessofPeeves … I’ve my dad to thank for my bone structure and mum to thank for pale skin which has kept me out of the sun. But, my neck pouch actually sags now and since weight loss, it’s letting the rest of me down. Then again, so is my backside! 🤣
