Heavyweight cotton t shirts for men?

WildFlowerBees · 02/10/2021 13:03

My brother is looking for T-shirts that are thicker than the usual Next/M&S ones. He muttered something about gsm. He's so bloody fussy and so far neither of us have found 'the one' I thought maybe the hive minds here might be able to help.

Thank you.

For things like this Amazon are good, they sell reliable brands like fruit of the loom and Carharrt

luckylavender · 02/10/2021 13:50

Some GAP ones are thicker. Only online now.

DS has this, white and totally not see through.

DH just got some Rapanui t-shirts. Pretty decent quality, not super thick but definitely substantial.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 02/10/2021 16:11

Espionage are good. Decent length as well.

These are fab, and are made in the U.K.

PiddleOfPuppies · 02/10/2021 16:27

Weird Fish are good. DS swears by them - they keep their shape after being washed and tumble dried too.

SuperStarRose · 02/10/2021 18:08

Fruit of the loom are thicker which is why a lot of companies use them to print logos on.

CommanderBurnham · 02/10/2021 22:46

Abercrombie are so soft and wash so well

Bontanics · 02/10/2021 22:57

Russell Athletic. You can pick them up at wholesale prices from fireplace.com in everycoliur.

MoltonSilver · 02/10/2021 23:00

There best I've found have been from Superdry. It's not all of them so he might need to buy and return a few. The ones that say 'orange label' tend to be thicker.

Hullbilly · 02/10/2021 23:30

Lands End super T ones are thick cotton

Piemam · 03/10/2021 00:08

Seasalt now do men's T-shirts and they are soft and thick and easy to wash. Pricier than some high street but worth it for wearing.

Another vote for Lands End. DH won't wear anything else. Really durable and high quality cotton.

KingdomScrolls · 03/10/2021 20:33

Got DH some seasalt ones, which he initially turned his nose up at (doesn't recognise he's nearly 40 and has never been cool). Now loves them as they are good quality heavy cotton, wash well and don't shrink upwards which is important to him at 6'4 as nearly all others do after a few washes. He just has plain ones and one striped as the designs aren't really his thing.

MoMuntervary · 03/10/2021 20:41

Howies are organic cotton and decently thick and the colour lasts. Dearer than H and M but you get what you pay for.

WildFlowerBees · 09/10/2021 15:53

Thank you for all the suggestions, I have passed them along for him to peruse.

Lands End. Their polo shirts are double the quality of standard too and wash & wear forever.

BodgertheJogger · 09/10/2021 17:02

Try Carhartt

BodgertheJogger · 09/10/2021 17:03

As previously mentioned, GAP had some very good heavy weight men's t-shirts. I last saw them in a store around 6 months ago. They looked lovely and I wanted one for myself.
