Meeting some incredibly senior people at work.. outfit needed!

Hi everyone, I've been invited to meet our Global VP of Finance next week at work and after a year of wearing Sweaty Betty leggings and a hoodie I have no idea what to wear. She's US based so thinking I need something quite conservative but would appreciate if anyone has any ideas. I'm 5ft 6 and size 8-10 with no boobs and a flat bum so nothing too fitted. Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!

Your outfit looks great. It's smart enough for anything and your horsebit loafers update it a bit. It's true that if you wanted to be cutting thon edge, a longer and looser blazer would be more current, but that's a nitpick and you'll certainly fool a Yank I think your star shirt also sounds lovely if you want to add a bit of personality (can we have a pic?).

Wear the American shirt they love a bit of camaraderie.

Also, have you googled this woman's photo? Does she have big hair?

Your navy suit is absolutely perfect - it doesn't make a statement, it's conservative (small c) business wear and if it's casual you can slip off your jacket and you'll be fine. Great choice! Go get 'em!

That outfit is perfect, OP, and you look great in it. I bet you look better than the VP does.

I think the suit is probably okay, but I really don't like the shoes and I'm not in love with the top either, sorry. Different shoes would help update the suit a bit, I think.

I like the outfit! Its timeless. And I typically hate the look of a woman suit.

I would usually be in a mid-mini skirt, full coverage top, black tights and high boots. Or same boots/tights with a high neck, sleeved dress.

If you do however fancy something new I’d look at the Fold or Winser London for some ideas on more formal workwear.

You look fab op, though I agree that a silk t-shirt would look great if you want to crank it up a notch. Pharma (and the finance function) is unlikely to be very 'fashion' and as others have said, a good blow-dry and maybe a manicure would be nice finishing touches.

Impressed by either your eye sight or your screen size! Apologies for daring to question your view though - will keep my opinion of your opinion to myself next time - seems I’ve missed the point of s discussion board.

I can clear this mystery up! It's a shell top (do they still get called that?!) from Jaeger in an off white. I'm likely to keep my jacket on the entire time as I always find conference rooms freezing! A silk t shirt would be nice though 🤔

Clothes have been a hot topic of conversation this afternoon, have had a very chic French colleague asking what I'm wearing and even the blokes are off on shopping trips this weekend.

Everything is a discussion - you post your opinion - why wouldn’t it be discussed. Op’s t shirt was perfectly classy - you made an assumption it wasn’t. Can’t take the heat? Don’t make a shitty comment.
