Help me find my winter uniform!

I know it’s not fashionable right now but I have a yearning to channel Meg Ryan in You’ve got Mail/ Marie Kondo and wear knee length skirts with tights and cashmere this winter. Uniqlo and TK Maxx can sort out the top half but I’m really struggling to find nice skirts! I don’t suit long florals or midi lengths.

I’ve got a couple of lovely wool a-line above the knee skirts from charity shops but I’m yearning for something a bit fuller maybe with a nice waistline to tuck a jumper in.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I think that style sounds wonderful - very 90s.
Top it all with a big wrap wool coat.
How about a kilt style - very Vivienne Westood?

I might go for this- I tried it on in the shop but they didn’t have my size… it was definitely knee length on me!

The Hush ruched skirt goes with everything.

I love the long wool coat, sweeping bohemian look, but in a minimalist way, without the frilly bells and whistles.
It is notoriously hard to source non trendy skirt styles, especially in good weight fabrics for winter without looking a bit ....historical!

I don't much like the overly voluminous styles around right now, and there's pretty much no in-between, it's either 'prairie' or 'office job'.

My eternal quandary is how to get out in a rainstorm with a longer skirt. Just buy a bell jar umbrella and go for it? I dunno....

Brora I think have some nice merino culottes, now I think these are super versatile! Ps I love your chanelling idea, any look you love is the one you can pull off.

I think the hush skirt would look great on the right person (my sister would rock it) but not “preppy” enough for what I’m looking for!
