Dress needed for godmother at christening

I've been asked to be godmother to my friend's baby at a church christening in about a month (according to friend, no firm date yet)

I'm 31, 5ft 7, decent waist and legs, wide hips/arse, big boobs and broad shoulders. I'm currently hovering between a 16/18 and I have no idea how to dress for formal occasions anymore. Everything I find seems to be too frumpy or too young. I would like a bit of cleavage because a high neck gives me a matronly mono-boob. Any help appreciated.

I would go for a midi dress as there are so many around right now . A v neck will be flattering for your boobs and provide a bit of cleavage. Then nip it in at the waist and it should skim over your bum . M&S has loads as do most places at the moment. Something in a dark floral and then you'll be able to put a polo neck underneath and wear it with tights and boots all winter . Sorry I have no specific dress in mind to show you but a quick search and you'll find literally hundreds. Smile

Just a regular day dress is fine or trousers and top. It is not formal as a wedding would be.

Thank you both, I've got some ideas now. I didn't realise that it wouldn't be as stiff and formal as a wedding

We have everything at our church christenings from Saturday night party gear to society wedding. People wear what they want. I'd like to say, no-one bats an eye lid, but the party gear has them flapping. A M&S wrap dress will see you proud though. Offensive to no-one. Grin

The last Christening I went to there were about 6 babies all with various family members and there was every style of clothing going, some wearing traditional African clothing, which was amazing, lots of dresses and a few trousers I think there may have even been jeans.

Do you have anything you have worn to a job interview?

Or a tea dress, pretty much any occasion you can wear a tea dress.
