I think you can call ahead and order it in and there's no obligation to buy.

That is exactly what I plan to do, call in advance and reserve. Just checking if anyone knows about the “discount”, do not want surprises!

I didn't think they were unless you are non EU citizen, I bought shoes last time I was there & I think they were normal price. From memory Chanel don't have the "iconic" bags but that may have changed.

I’m not sure there is any tax free shopping in the UK since January 2021 due to Brexit. I believe you have to have the items posted to an address outside the UK in order to get the tax free price.

I would also add that the choice in Chanel T5 is limited. They do receive new stock regularly but it’s a matter of what’s there at the time. They will hold an item for you up to 2 weeks, I used to do this and pay when I was leaving the UK to get the tax free price. This was pre 2021 though.

Now we’ve left the EU it’s not cheaper for Brits
They have had some of the classic jumbos in there last time I went in (this was over 2 years ago now!).

This, i made all my 2.55 purchases there over ten years ago, but there haven’t been classics sold there for some time now.

I was browsing in Gucci at T5 last week. The staff told me the prices are now pretty much the same as London for almost all brands.

I think there is a Dior in Bicester where you are more likely to get a discount (although the stock won’t be the same as the normal stores). Chanel never goes on sale anywhere (company policy, I believe).

There are personal shoppers at Heathrow you can contact for stock and prices. I was able to reserve a bag at Chanel for 24hrs before my flight to look at a few years ago which I ended up buying. I don't think pricing will be different for in-stores now though..

Also stock can be moved between terminals as can passengers (pre-covid) but you may want to check if still happens.
