In a bid to sort my wardrobe out I have given 3 bags to charity and am sorting through more.
I chose some neutrals and colours for the base and I've just ordered my clothes by colour. It's a revelation! I've done : black, neutrals, whites/creams, then medium contrast colours, them medium light colours.
I can't wear high contrast or more than two colours but to pick an outfit, I'd go for a neutral plus a colour (or two).
All one neutral or all one colour are fine, as is mixing one or two medium contrasts (mine are all analogous colours near each other colour wheel) with a neutral, some colours are better in autumn (I'm a freckler), and some colours (medium lights) are better in summer (when my contrast is softer, my hair goes darker in winter), but seeing it organised in the way I've done it is really helpful.
I just need to work out if I have enough autumn, summer etc. outfits and where the gaps are e.g. do I need another neutral jumper or a medium light layer etc., of what style etc. Its making a lot more sense than 'I need more teal tops' which are inevitably hard to find when you are looking for them!
