Mom jeans when you have a big tummy?

I’ve prised myself out of my skinnies and bought some mom and boyfriend fit jeans.
I really like them but have a big tummy (size 14) so the whole fitted or tucked in top looks dreadful.
Longer looser tops I’d have worn with skinnies just look wrong so what should I wear or do I just accept big bellies and these jeans don’t go!😊

Another option for tops is short and boxy. Not cropped, long enough so you're not showing skin (or in my case, your vest) but not as long as the tops you might wear with skinnies.

I am the same size 14. I live in mom jeans. I've got a few linen tops from M&S that have a tie at the front. So it sort of hides your tum.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think mom jeans suit everyone. I think they look best with a crop top/tight top and a small waist.

I tried on many different styles of jeans recently and ended up with more skinnies, as they are just what suit me the best.

I don't follow fashion trends though, I only buy what suits me and I know I will wear more than just the odd occasion.

(and also I could not figure out what shoes I could wear with a lot of the newer styles).

I like straight leg as they're inbetween a skinny and mom jean

Thanks everyone, yes @makkapakka212 think straight legs might be the way to go although I really like that jumper @Chocolatecoatedkettlebell but it’s sold out in my size.

Also agree with this. I'm a convert to mom jeans and I have a tummy!

Try ASOS vintage skinny jeans, less skin tight and found them very flattering on my csection tum ☺️

IrishMamaMia · 28/09/2021 20:25

Also a convert to straight leg and boyfriend. I'm an apple shape and mom jeans just accentuate the tummy. I think it's still fine to wear them if you're not super thin, they just aren't very flattering.

Oooh love that @Chocolatecoatedkettlebell

olivehater · 28/09/2021 21:08

Yeah I’ve given up. Started wearing more wide leg trousers, pallazo pants and cuffed joggers instead. And more dresses and skirts. I don’t care what people say about tucking in as well. It doesn’t work on me.
