Best ash dark blonde/light brown dye to cover grey

I have mid brown highlighted hair with some brown dye also pulled through and it never covers the grey sufficiently and always ends up too warm. I have tried a few different hairdressers and they are all the same. I figured if it is going to look rubbish it might as well be cheap! Any recommendations for the best all over dye. I’m happy to touch up regularly. Thanks

If your hair is naturally mid brown I’m not sure you’d achieve a dark blonde without bleaching it? I might be wrong but I’m in a similar position and have been looking at boxes of hair dye and not finding anything I can use which is light enough to cover grey. I’m thinking of giving up and going grey!

Thanks. I tried the grey and mine looked rubbish. I was hoping it would cover the grey and will probably slightly lighten the brown - maybe?

Must admit I haven’t tried it….I just keep looking at the pictures on the box where it shows you what expected results will look like depending on your natural hair colour. But maybe it would take on the grey and give you highlights effect? 🤷‍♀️
