Does your balayage hair look rubbish tied back?

Mine does. It looks like a blonde bun/ponytail has been clipped on to a brown head of hair. I wear it up most of the time TBH day to day. It looks great down but this doesn’t suit my lifestyle.

So to those with balayage hair - does yours do this? Or is mine just a bit of a bad job and I need to be looking for a new hairdresser??

Mine does that too. I avoid tying it up because of this!

No, but I've never gone for a very full on/dramatic balayage - I pay for a half head of highlights so it's quite subtle. I had been thinking about going lighter next time but hadn't considered this, so thanks! :)
