I have ash blonde hair with a few silvery highlights, pale skin and dark green eyes.
Wardrobe is a mix of greys, navy, sage green, teal, dark denim, bluey purple, fawn brown and a few black.

Never wear lime green, brights, pastels, mustard, burnt orange.

Ginger hair, blue green eyes, pale skin with a rosy undertone.

Lots of bright blues & greens, navy, some grey/coral/yellow and tan.

Had my colours done twice and whilst I'm a cool spring apparently, and that palette does suit me, I never feel like I've got any pizzazz when I stick to those rules. Eg I do wear black as the contrast between it and my hair/eyes/skin always draws compliments which is lovely.

I do steer clear of mustard/bottle green/terracotta and other muted shades like beige and baby blue/pink/pastels because they make the rest of me disappear! And not in a good way (I have plenty of girth that I wish would disappear instead 🤣🤣)

SlamLikeAGuitar · 28/09/2021 18:21

I have very dark brown hair, green eyes, very pale skin (honestly, people ask me if I’m ill all the time Blush).
My wardrobe consists of black, black, more black, a couple of pairs of blue jeans, and the odd white or grey top.
Basically all monochrome colours Grin

Boood · 28/09/2021 18:40

Light brown/dark blonde hair, medium pale skin, grey-green eyes. Deep Summer flowing into Winter and about 70% of my wardrobe is navy or grey. Next to that, pink, white, burgundy and green. Also a lot of aqua in summer, which only medium suits me, but makes me happy.

TheBullfinch · 28/09/2021 21:44

@RobertClementHughes There isnt a cool spring as spring is a warm season.

There's Bright Spring, Blue Spring, Paintbox Spring, Warm Spring, Pastel Spring and er ... i think that's it.

Jenufer · 28/09/2021 21:50

Blonde, fair skin, blue eyes.

Most of my clothes are tones of blue/dusky green/pink/lilac/navy. Blue is definitely the colour that suits me best.

I would avoid like the Plague: orange, any kind of yellow, bright green, Royal blue, emerald green, purple, grey. Also silver/gold/leopard print, but that's just because I don't like them.

One of my DD has red hair, blue eyes, and freckles. She looks absolutely gorgeous in teal, any green, very dark Burgundy, and black. Pink, red, yellow and orange are no-go zones for her.

I do occasionally wear red, though only very, very occasionally.

RobertClementHughes · 28/09/2021 21:52

@TheBullfinch- clear spring is the missing one! That was me 🤣

Sorry, got muddled because the blues and greens look better on me than pinks and oranges. Dur.

Cattenberg · 28/09/2021 21:59

Brown hair, blue/grey eyes with a grey “rim” around the iris, pale skin.

I suit colours with a blue undertone, including blue, purple, grey and the cooler shades of pink, red and green.

I can get away with black trousers, but a black top would be overpowering, as black makes my face look pale and dull. Orange is my least flattering colour, though. It makes my skin look yellow and blotchy.

Bertiebiscuit · 28/09/2021 22:01

Platinum hair, blue green eyes, fairly light skin - wardrobe mostly black, white grey, with a bit of royal blue and cherry red - I look terrible in pastels, green, brown, tomato red - yellow makes me look half dead

allofthecheese · 28/09/2021 22:03

Pale skin and very blue veins but with brown eyes and warm (I think) brown hair. I'm so confused what season I am but I tend to suit white over cream for example so I think I'm cool. And am drawn to autumn type of colours - nude, browns and khakis. I love blush and maroon. Pastels look awful on me. What does that make me? Confused

nopuppiesallowed · 28/09/2021 22:42

I was a typical redhead with blue eyes and pale skin but no freckles. Now I am older, my hair is gradually greying, which means it just looks a faded red. My colouring is warm spring. I look terrible in the colours in all British shops in the winter. Black and dark navy or any sludge colours wash me out. Clear, warm toned colours look better on me. Best colours are cream, orange, yellow, beige and brown. Bright navy is good. I get good quality clothes from Kettlewell, and though they are more expensive than M and S etc. they sell colours which suit me. Having my colours done was a revelation and really helpful. It's saved loads of mistakes!

VetOnCall · 29/09/2021 01:05

Hair is light brownish blonde - it has caramel/honey/some light blonde balayage. Pale-ish skin but it does tan in summer, freckles on nose and cheeks. Very bright blue eyes.

About 90% of my wardrobe is various shades of blue, teal or grey. I suit pretty much all blue shades, navy, greys, silver, charcoal, black, purples and soft/dark greens. Randomly I have a couple of really bright orange hoodies that I love and that suit me.

I never, ever wear any shade of red, it looks awful on me. Also don't like and don't suit any shade of pink, coral, yellow, bright green, mustard, gold, cream, rust, brown or beige. Never wear pastels of any colour.

CatKittyCatCatKittyCatCat · 29/09/2021 01:25

Dark hair and eyes, pale but warm toned skin. High contrast colouring.

One of the main things I go for is high contrast pairings. So black and white, french navy and ecru, coffee and cream etc. Has to bright white not off white.

For actual colours I suit dusky pink and dusky lilac, acid and sunshine yellows, lime or apple or jade or forest green, orangey reds, aubergine/rouge noir, golden tan. Generally clear, bright or strong colours with warm undertones.

One of the ways I started looking at it was to base things on the visible colours of me. So dark brown for hair and eyes, dusky pinks for lips, white and black for the whites and pupils of my eyes, ecru for my winter skin and golden tan for my summer skin (the dusky lilac comes from the fact that after a very good summer I have a lilac undertone/sheen to my skin, especially in the shaded hollows).

I probably overthink this. My mother was an artist who batiked, so growing up my home was a whirl of different colours being overdyed on silk in progressive stages and my mum used to talk to me about colour theory and complex shades a lot.

CatKittyCatCatKittyCatCat · 29/09/2021 01:27

Oh, I avoid anything muddy, muted tones, most pastels, most purples, earth tones, grey (although silver grey or very light grey mark is ok in small doses), nearly all blues except warm blues or dark navies.

Khaki (or army green) is pretty good though when I have a tan.

LaBellina · 29/09/2021 04:09

Ash brown, green eyes, fair complexion with golden undertones.

Red, black, pink and dark green look great on me, I have been told by several people that black looks amazing on me and I’m one of those people who can pull it off very well.
In terms of jewelry, silver / white gold looks ok on me but yellow looks best.

Cotswoldmama · 29/09/2021 07:13

Very dark chestnut brown hair, olive skin, green eyes. I think I suit all colours apart from pastels.

TheBullfinch · 29/09/2021 15:11

Ah-ha! Makes sense!

I think clear spring is the same as Bright Spring. So confusing! I think it means youre on the cooler end of the spectrum, next to dark winter (dont quote me)! The key is saturated colour.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 29/09/2021 15:33

Trying to find another white haired, brown eyed, easily tan person!
I suit black, grey, fuschia, crimson, rust and most shades of blue. Yellow is a no no but ochre is good, I rarely wear green, occasionally khaki.
Stronger colours rather than pastels.
Heaven knows what that makes me!

PrincessNutNuts · 29/09/2021 16:54

Dirty blonde, greyish greeny blue eyes, light skin that tans easily,

Mid-blue denim, blue generally, all the middling shades of grey, sage, khaki. Soft vanilla ice cream yellow, Millennial pink... I like a small multi-coloured floral print in soft colours.

I don't do dark, bright, icy pastel, or high contrast.

I feel like there's no colour I absolutely can't wear so long as I find a soft, mid-toned version of it,

I tty to avoid black.

Deathraystare · 30/09/2021 11:51

Golden brown hair, blue eyes, warm ivory complexion. I think I am a 'Spring'. I go for coral, greens, bright blue, yellow, clear but not 'blue' pink, navy, red, orange. I avoid burgundy/maroon like the plague as very unsuitable on me. Try to avoid most browns and particularly beiges. Black does not really suit so I only wear it on my bottom half - well, ok I do have some black t shirts!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 30/09/2021 11:58

blonde, hazel eyes, cool skin. I think in terms of the seasons I am a soft summer, and do have a lot of muted stuff. I look better in dark green/navy/oxblood than black. But the colour that gets me the most compliments is a strong egg-yolk yellow, which I'm definitely not suppose to suit according to The Rules.

FastFood · 30/09/2021 19:24

Got brown hair, blue-green eyes, pale skin with warm orange of undertones, wear mostly black white navy and grey, and occasionally red, mustard, orange, dark green and warm light pink.
Always wear gold jewellry.

Never wear any kind of cold colour. Can wear every colour but has to be a warm hue.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 01/10/2021 01:41

You sound very like me but I am medium contrast @CatKittyCatCatKittyCatCat. Good theory.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 01/10/2021 01:46

@DotBall

Mid-dark brown hair, very dark brown eyes, cool skin tone.

I look best in strong pink, cerise, magenta, red or blue based purples, teal, red and black but can also wear ice pink and blue.

Can get away with rust, olive green, french blue in autumn.

White, orange or yellow look awful on me.

This sounds a lot like me. I am forever undecided about yellow. Pale yellow is very flattering on skintone. I get freckles and can pull off mustard in autumn. Yellow is a lighter shade off green which has something in common with the pigmentation of grey so its easier on the eye apparently.
PegasusReturns · 01/10/2021 05:56

I’m blonde, blue/grey eyes, cool pale skin.

My absolute best colours are bright pinks and corals. Red with blue undertones is also good.

Emerald green works well as does white.

Mustards, beiges, browns, anything autumnal are awful on me. 18mths if looking at myself on zoom has really highlighted what works for me and what doesn’t - I’ve literally finished calls and binned tops that I was previously fond of because they do me no favours.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/10/2021 06:19

My hair is white, originally dark brown. My eyes are green. My complexion is a clear, pale olive with a cool undertone. Due to my skin colour I can wear most shades, the main exception being warmer beiges browns, oranges and reds. Pastels even suit me now my hair is lighter although dark, high contrast colours look best. My best colours are coral, kelly green (well most shades of green to be fair) burgundy and black. I wear a lot of grey and black.
