Yes, I've just glugged one and a half bottles of Vouvray. Yes, I've just spent £329 online (although I have sold some unwanted stuff on Ebay...that's my justification, anyway) and bought 3 pairs of NYDJ stretchy pull-on skinny jeans. I have been looking for the perfect pair of jeans to suit my apple shape and won't cause me discomfort (IBS) have I been unwise? I have figured out that maybe investing in something well-fitting will be worthwhile.

words of wisdom, please.......

Ah... something else I wanted to add....is it worth paying £££££ for jeans/clothing in general????? I am trying to re-arrange my wardrobe, and I have a lot of cheap clothing that I will probably never wear. I would rather have just a few goog items..

I've finally admitted to myself that yes it's worth paying for a well fitting pair of jeans. And hopefully, if you buy quality they will last. I can't say I'm so sure about spending £300 on jeans I haven't tried before. Still, hopefully you can send them back if they are not perfect.

Yes, I have ordered them from John Lewis, so it will be very easy to send them back. I just thought that if I spend a lot more on jeans than I normally would, I may just get something that will see me out (I'm 64) . I must have spent that and more over the years on jeans that just don't fit well.

I love those jeans and have a few pairs. I've since made the transition to wide leg stuff, but NYDJ are a good purchase for comfortable skinnies. Have a look on amazon though. They used to have the odd pair discounted.

BrimfulofDipper · 25/09/2021 23:04

I looked on Amazon and Ebay before I made the purchase. nothing to be found.

Any reason you bought 3 pairs of the same style ? I did order 6 pairs of jeans once but they were different styles and sizes. (5 went back)

BrimfulofDipper · 25/09/2021 23:15

I bought three pairs because there were only 4 left. I figure that if I don't like them, I can send them back, but if I do like them, then three pairs is a good number to have as jeans are an everyday staple for me.

Oh, and if they sell out, they may not get new stock in for ages.

These jeans sound great (although maybe trying one pair first could have been a more sensible approach, less to return)

I tend to pick up tops, dresses and coats second hand, but find it so hard to find well fitting jeans and trousers so buy those new. Even then, it’s rare that I find a good fit. I’m pear shaped and short.

I totally understand that when you are on to a good thing it’s worth buying several pairs. They sound pricey, but if they fit well you will get good use out of them.

Off to Google NYDJ jeans…

A word of warning. I tried a single pair of Levi's, loved them, bought another pair straight away, than another two when they came on sale. I put those two away, because I was always the same size for years. Then came lockdown and I had to buy more jeans in the next size up Blush
I can get back into them now but it's a bit of a squeeze, so I still can't wear them all day. And there are new styles around now.

These jeans sound interesting
