Help! Going to a charity dinner in London with my partner and his work colleagues

So I'm in need of some help and dress ideas as feel at a loss as what to wear and style

At the mo I'm not feeling my best I feel fat and frumpy as I've pilled on the pounds all I needed really! but if I don't go it will look bad as he is expected to go it will be first time I'm meeting his colleagues and there wife's to so a bit nervous too and want to look the best I can as I think these lady's will be quite glam !

I'm in my middle 40 but look younger so ppl tell me I'm a size 14 in dresses and tops but that can depend on fit as can be a 16 I'd like something that minimises the look of my boobs 34GG and draws attention away from them also short sleeved nothing with skinny straps either my best points are my legs so don't mind showing these of but not too short.

I do wear supported underwear and I get fitted regular .

Would prefer a dress but open to any other ideas

Oh posting to bump you. I am no expert but what do you like to wear ? I am in the same boat and went to a work doo solo recently. Everyone was so dilighted to be out no one really cared about outfits. I had been fretting then just chucked on an old faithful. I decided to size up one in tried and tested outfits for the short term (ebay). Best thing is to have fun and let go of numbers and sizes. They won't know what dress.size you wore but will remember you.

It feels quite daunting and it's been a very last minute invite !

It turns out it's cocktail dresses. So not so bad.

But still trying to find a dress that I want to feel comfy in and look nice without my boobs busting out of a button or overflowing a top just don't want to look slutty as some of the dresses I've seen are very low cut and don't leave much to the imagination and I defiantly don't want my boobs being centre of attention !
