When you go to the dentist for this, do they only do the top teeth or the bottom as well?

They do both

gunnersgold · 24/09/2021 20:26

Whatever you want , you can just have either done if you want . I had mine done last lockdown . Best money I've ever spent !

Do you mind me asking how much they cost?
mizu · 24/09/2021 21:58

And is the whitening subtle?

notlongtillxmas · 25/09/2021 07:43

I went for a consultation and do still want it done but not at that place
Still looking for another
It seems you have a really good clean and then they suggest a shade ( I'd imagine you can choose but there will be a limit they can achieve ) they can show you that with shade charts next to your teeth
Expect to pay around 300-1000 is what I'm led to believe from friends and colleagues
I tried to do it myself with boil and shape guards but they were rubbish so I ended up dribbling it all down my chin 🙄

mizu · 25/09/2021 07:55

300-1000 Shock crikey

notlongtillxmas · 25/09/2021 08:50

I know ! Would I pay it ? I'd pay what I could afford as I really would like it done but I'm afraid 1. As soon as I'd have a coffee it be back to normal 2. Make my teeth really sensitive so I couldn't even enjoy that coffee
  1. No difference

Appt availability is insane too ! I called 2 places who offered me consultation appts for Jan 22

NotMyCat · 25/09/2021 12:16

I think I paid £300 for zoom, which was in chair and included the moulds and top up gel
TBH if you have the time and patience just get the moulds and gel from the dentist. I pay £10 per tube of gel now and the moulds last

gunnersgold · 25/09/2021 13:22

@covetingthepreciousthings £300 .. my teeth went from a bit yellow to super white ! They were straight before so it made them look amazing!

gunnersgold · 25/09/2021 13:23

I had it done at my dentist , they are young and enthusiastic and very good. I was going to have composite bonds over my front two teeth but decided against it because the result was so good !

notlongtillxmas · 25/09/2021 14:28

Sorry to derail the thread @TaraR2020
But for those of you who have had it done - are the trays provided by the dentist better quality , more comfortable and better fitted than the boil and bite ones I got ? By that I mean you put them in hot water for 15secs to allow them to soften , you them bite in to make your impression and put them in cold water to set ? Mine were rubbish ! Are the detest ones better ?

thesearelaughterlines · 25/09/2021 15:21

Dentist ones ! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤨

Yep loads better, they really fit your teeth
thesearelaughterlines · 25/09/2021 15:52

Thank you ! And apologies for name change mid way through question .. was too depressing to be reminded lol

NotMyCat · 25/09/2021 16:15

The dentist ones they do with putty in your mouth, I already had a teeth mould as I sleep with a bite guard in so that was cheaper!
You can feel they sort of grip to your teeth, I've never got any on my gums or anything
