Trying to reduce my wardrobe and shoe/boot collection.

I think I have a shopping addiction and it’s got to the point where I have clothes and shoes with tags still on that I will never wear. I love buying clothes and shoes but realistically I never go anywhere nice to wear the things I have bought so they just claim space in my wardrobe. In the last few days I have listed 12 pairs of shoes on vinted and I probably have many more, I feel embarrassed at the amount I have spent and wasted.

I’m trying to get my wardrobe reduced down to things that I will wear and wear daily rather than ‘things I might wear one day if invited out for a meal..funeral…wedding..job interview etc..’.

Please tell me I’m not alone in having far too much?

I have given several bags full to charity over the last 2 weeks and sold some, my wardrobe is looking better but I’m still drowning in shoes.

I think i had a shopping addiction, when I was still working part time, I would go in the city every week just for a look round, I always came home with something, I took early retirement at 55, because I worked in the city I sometimes shopped before work or after, since not working I still carried on shopping once a week but that started to get boring so went less and less, now I only go maybe once a month, I really don't need anymore clothing and regularly have a cull and I try to buy only what I need, I do slip up now and again, covid has help as last couple of years no holidays and not been out so much.

I'd probably have a shopping addiction too if I had money, so my advice, become very very poor... When it's a choice between feeding kids Vs buying the same shoes in 5 different colours... You choose 2 colours and half rations.. 🤪

(Oh and that's a light hearted comment in case someone doesn't realise)
