Nars vs EL Doublewear vs Mac foundation

Hi. Ive always bought cheap store bought foundations but would like to go all out and buy a more expensive ( to me) foundation.
I am in my 30s, combination skin, have a few freckles that I would like to cover.

Also I am not the type to constantly touch up.
If you have tried 2 or maybe all 3 foundations, which one did you prefer?
Also not great at applying lashes, do manage to, do you think it is easier to use tweezers or just by hand?
I like volume and length for eyelashes but not too dramatic. My eyelashes are not too bad to start off with. What are your recommendations?
( Maybe I should have started different thread for the eyelashes Blush)
Any advice given I would be grateful for.

@Dinnertime22
Ok thanks. Something to check out. 12 hour wear sounds perfect Grin

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor
Yes I have tried Revlon colourstay.
I actually have Double Wear although the color match failed so I got the wrong shade.
It is really nice but other than looking alot paler than I would have liked, I have fine laughter lines around my eyes and I feel the foundation sinks in slightly after a little bit.
Maybe im expecting a miracle Blush.
Might just need to step up on my skin care routine more.

I used to always wear double wear, I tried Mac and didn't like it. Last year I switched to Nars longwear and omg I love it. Will never wear anything else now

I'm dark skinned so MAC provides a good colour match. I love the studio fix powder plus foundation for everyday, sweep it on with a brush and you can built it up

MAC studio fix fluid is great for occasion wear

The concealer (both studio finish and pro long wear) is really good for face but it's creasing under the eyes now so I'll be trying nars next. I'm 31 and I feel like my eyes have aged masssively so I've just invested in paulas choice eye cream to see if that helps

Double wear is similar to Colourstay. I find a lot is to do with how you apply it, if you find it highlights eye lines then don't apply it round your eyes. I use a buffing brush from AYU which is amazing and the best brush I've ever used, makes a huge difference. I dot foundation on my forehead , cheeks and chin and blend with the brush then really miss out eye area all together or just use the residual foundation just to sweep over.

Expensive isn't always better. I wouldn't blind buy a foundation online so would probably stick to places that allow a return if the shade or formula is wrong (clinique) or places like look fantastic or feel unique that send a sample sachet out with certain foundations so you can test the shade before opening the full size, or somewhere like QVC.

The best of the mid price 'luxury' foundations IMO are Nars sheer glow (it isn't sheer though and the shade range is awkward if you're pale), Lancome teint Idole ultra, or Dior.

What high street ones have you tried and liked OP, might be easier to gauge from that, what did you like about them?

So I would like to thank all those who replied.
In the end I did a sample test at boots and found I preferred the double wear as it's full coverage. Managed to find the right colour too so hopefully ive found the right one for me. Will check the other recommendations given to me in future. ( could only afford the one at the minute)
