I quite fancy a pair of these boots. They are quite an investment, for me, but it's my birthday coming up and I would like to spend birthday money on a specific thing rather than whittling it away!

Are they comfortable? Are they different enough to my soft DMs to warrant buying them?
Thank you in advance!

They’re gorgeous. Two things for me - I’m a lazy bugger and want a side zip and I honestly think they’re over priced. I could overlook the lack of zip if a pair turned up on the doorstep though!

BuckyBarnesArm · 22/09/2021 16:02

Sorry to add to this with no useful information, but they ARE gorgeous. Agree about price, it's a fairly ridiculous price tag for which you'd expect them to be fitted with airbags for max comfort.

I'd be interested if anyone could find a very similar style at much less.

troppibambini6 · 22/09/2021 16:06

I have them. I've had them for a few years now and have definitely had my wear out of them.
I've put sheepskin liners in and they are toasty now.
I spend a lot of time watching my kids play rugby/ football/ netball and they are great for that.
Fashion wise I think they are a bit done now but I still really like them.

Wallabyone · 22/09/2021 16:09

Yes, the side zip issue is valid-my DMs have softened enough that it's fine now!

Thanks @troppibambini6 . I'm going to try some on and see how they feel. Also thinking about some very chunky black tall chelsea boots.

I really want a pair!

I like the brown ones with shearling lining.

Trying to convince myself that either a pair of dr marten leonore's would do the job. Or maybe these copycats from joules... www.joules.com/Women/All-Womens-Footwear/Montrose/Lace-Up-Hiker-Boots?size=Adult-5&id=213817|CHESNUT|6

They are so expensive!

chalkyc2 · 22/09/2021 23:26

Sorry v bad at links. These are the joules ones.

I love them, soooo comfortable. Size down though.

PostItNow · 23/09/2021 03:42

I’ve had a pair for a few years - the lacing up is annoying - they could have gone with a few hooks at the top - they are quite narrow and I do not find them super comfortable and so I rarely wear them as a consequence, always favour my Blundstones, And I just bought some chunky Chelsea boots this year to replace them.

Wallabyone · 23/09/2021 21:13

Thanks everyone. My husband came home with them this evening as an early birthday present from Selfridges. I've tried them on and I love them. They are my usual size and feel ok but I have wide feet and I think they will be more comfortable once broken in.

I've just looked on ASOS and they are £10 cheaper at £310 and they have a 20% discount today so we've just ordered them and DH will return the others when he goes to the office next. I think my DMs might be worn a bit less than last year as these will do a similar job, but I really like the way they look!

That 20% discount makes them about the right price. Well done for spotting it!

chalkyc2 · 23/09/2021 21:34

Amazing @Wallabyone! Lucky! I ordered a pair of DM leonores today - I can't run to grensons I don't think.
