Saw a thread the other day about Stan Smiths and was looking at Superstars. I'm 40. Am I too old for these trainers? For context my 8 year old has the kids ones. I love converse and have different patterns of them but would like something a bit softer.

My favourite, am 40 too. Have a leopard print pair and plain white.

One hundred percent NOT too old. Im 42 and have several pairs, and hope to be wearing Adidas Superstars when I'm 82! They're insanely comfy. Enjoy 👍

I'm 46 and a Stan Smiths woman but I saw a pair of shell toes on a women a similar age and fell in love!

Aah thank you. I really didn't mean to sound ageist or anything but it's difficult sometimes to know. I wear a lot of converse and read somewhere once I could be too old for them but I wear them anyway.

Just because you're 40, it doesn't mean you have to start wearing ballet flats from Hotter.

Shell toes are the way to go. So comfy. I'm 48 and it would never occur to me that I'm too old to wear them.

Had an 80 something yo patient wearing a plain pair of these. She loved them. I thought they looked great.
FWIW my 8yo niece has the same size feet as me and our runners are interchangeable (mostly mine which get stolen 🤣)

Very true, and true for any age! Wear what you love, what is comfy and what feels good

42, bright red superstars here - I also wear alot of sports gear including cropped jumpers, leggings....as long as I can get away with it, I'm wearing it!

I have these and I'm 43.

I am 48 and have 20 pairs in all shades of the rainbow (plus leopard and iridescent). Love them.

On the flip side, if the age thing is important, I don't know anyone under 40 who wears these.

There are so many trainers out there, have a look for ones that are a bit less generic 'summer dress, denim jackets and trainers'?

I managed to persuade my daughter away from the ever present identikit AF1s and she's starting to develop a really good eye for trainers.

They look great! I fancy some too. What’s the sizing like?

I just wear the trainers that I like.
I have probably 20 pairs.

I don't find them at all narrow, I have feet like a duck and love my superstars.

I'm definitely going to get some. Just not sure whether to stick with the ones in the pic or different ones. I could get addicted to them.

Has anyone got an array of Adidas? I'm after some white ones but I need quite wide fitting trainers!
