Longer length pyjama recommendations please

I’m looking for a few new sets of pyjamas for autumn. I’ve got a 31 inch inside leg and a high waist so pyjama waistbands will not stay below my belly button but sit about 2 inches above it, so I have been reduced to buying men’s pyjama bottoms to get a good length. The downside is I have a lot of blue plaid pyjama bottoms!

I need long trousers, straight, no tapered legs or cuffed hems, they don’t flatter my perimenopausal/lockdown figure! Preferably don’t have to be ironed within an inch of their lives to look nice. Any suggestions?

Victoria’s Secret pyjamas are long even if the regular length and they actually do an even longer length in several styles. Unlike most pyjamas they also never shrink even if you tumble dry them and come out decent enough to not need ironing. I’m 5ft8 and the long length is so long I’ve tripped over so I buy the regular now.

Next! Their tall range PJs are perfect. They have a wide variety too.

Pajama Pantry hand-make lovely light cotton pj bottoms, and have an 'extra long' length option.

Boux Avenue .
Good length and their flannel ones never need to see a glance of an iron.

PickleSarnie · 22/09/2021 11:42

Hush do longer length ones.

The brushed cotton ones they do in winter i find are on the large side (I order a size smaller than I am), their summer cotton ones are sized smaller (I order my actual size).

Oh, lots of places to look at! I don’t think there would be so many!

@LakeShoreD what is the sizing like? I’m a 12, which their sizing guide says should be a Large, but I’ve read a review saying they come up baggy. here

They do run big! I took them into hospital to wear after my section, pre pregnancy I was a size 8-10, and I was very comfortable in the medium. If you’re a 12 I reckon M, don’t get large.

Itsnotdeep · 22/09/2021 14:46

I am tall and have hush ones (I have found the brushed cotton ones do shrink in the drier) and gap ones.

I am hankering after these Toast ones which are lovely irl but very pricey.

Lobelian · 22/09/2021 14:56

I like the Hush pj pants but the quality's really gone downhill in the last few years. They shrink and go stiff after a few washes, and any pretty little gold stars vanish almost straight away.

M&S had a brief but glorious run of elegant, almost 1930s PJ sets with short dressing gowns and deep-trimmed pants, but now it's all cartoon snoozy cats and Rosie HW satin nighties. I wish they'd lure that designer back... Sad

Bananaman123 · 22/09/2021 18:01

Love next ones but have also bought me s pj's from fat face which I love and they tend to have pockets in mens pjs

WeeMadArthur · 22/09/2021 18:20

@LakeShoreD I’ve ordered some in M, let’s hope they fit!

@Itsnotdeep they look lovely, if only they weren’t cropped! Unfortunately I have sturdy, not shapely ankles, and wish to keep them hidden!

@Lobelian I had some lovely long pjs from M&S bought as a treat when DS was born, 11 years ago. I resorted to repairing them to keep them going but sadly they have given up the ghost.

They run long imo and are really soft and comfortable. I have three or four pairs and love them.

Notashandyta · 22/09/2021 18:24

Second Next tall pyjamas

Itsnotdeep · 22/09/2021 18:27

Oh yes, I didn't notice that. The fabric is just so lovely.

I think Hush cotton ones will fit the bill. I liked the Victoria Secret ones linked below, but they are a viscose mix which I don't like. the hush ones I have trail on the floor (I'm 5'8) - but they are really old (from the days that Hush only made pyjamas) so I don't know what quality is like now.

Do you wear them to bed? I don't wear pjs to bed, just to lounge in, so also have a selection of joggers/loungewear too.

WeeMadArthur · 22/09/2021 20:15

@Itsnotdeep I do wear them to bed. I’ve just bought these as well, I’m on a roll! They said they are 77cm inside leg, which is longer than most.

Primark have long legs, mine are a little longer than yours but they're all full length on me.
