Trinny make-up!! Or is anything else better?

Is it worth it?!
My FB is bombarded with advertising and it is working. I'm reluctant to do a zoom conference so I'd probably make the trek into town.
I'm late 50s, and my skin needs some help!!

The miracle blur is what I'd like to try. Seen influencers try it and it seems to work ?!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 21/09/2021 19:35

I've got a few bits and I really like it. The BFF cream really brings your skin to life, I wear it instead of foundation if I just want light coverage. I also like the lip to cheek pots. Haven't tried miracle blur as I've read mixed reviews.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 21/09/2021 19:39

I am about to order another pot of Miracle Blur as am at rock bottom.

When I first got it I was not impressed but I think I was using it wrong-
I now use on chin and nose where I have bigger pores and it does sort of fill in/smooth out.
It did not work under my eyes but again I might have been doing it wrong.

Agree re BFF cream and like some of the shimmer things-really fun to experiment with.

I love her makeup although the stacks are annoying because you have to keep turning them over to see what's what.
Label on the top would be lovely Trinny!!

Cuddlemuffin · 21/09/2021 19:42

If you haven't looked into it already...Dermatica subscription for Tretinoin. Trinny make up very average, better things out there IMO x

I was wondering whether it is a bit over-hyped! I tried some M&S luminous type foundation once that was awful and threw it away. Usually go for Clarins

I just feel Trinny London is so expensive, their new face product launched today and it’s £39. Even places like Nars and Bobbi Brown aren’t quite so expensive.

My face eats make up so on me the eye and lip to cheek stuff had no staying power whatsoever.

OverByYer · 21/09/2021 22:52

I love the BFF cream. I can get away without foundation in the day as it gives my skin a lovely glow. I also use the BFF serum if I do want coverage and Just a Touch for more coverage where needed.
Not so keen on the Lip to cheek or eye shadow

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/09/2021 07:19

The BFF cream made my skin really greasy and shiny. And the foundation stuff, again, too greasy for me.

My skin likes a tiny dab of Double Wear, or a mineral foundation, I can't remember the brand (not Bare Minerals). The Trinny make up was an expensive mistake for me. I don't know if they do samples or anything. I'd not have bought full sized if I'd had samples first.

creampuff99 · 22/09/2021 07:37

I keep on wondering whether to invest in some as I get so many well-marketed ads. I have tried many tinted foundations/ creams before and have recently purchased the Aldi Lacura BB and must say it's utterly fab. I have sensitive skin and it just makes me subtly glow without any irritation.

That is so funny as I use the Aldi BB and absolutely love it! Then Clarins foundation if I need a bit more coverage.
The moisturising serum at Aldi is also wonderful!
Maybe I won't like Trinny, it seems a bit shiny for me. Their advertising is great though, I bet they get lots of impulse buys!

I got sucked into the Trinny hype and regret 2 out of my 3 purchases. Don’t like the foundation and the lip to cheek pots are ok on cheeks but not on my lips! Only thing I’m using is the BFF cream.

I had switched from Smashbox tinted primer which I’ll be going back to.

Yetanothernamechange123 · 22/09/2021 08:26

I'm now looking at Smashbox Grin

I love Bobbi Brown pretty much for everything with some Glossier products which are a bit cheaper. However If I had the money I would buy Chantecaille and Hourglass.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 22/09/2021 11:37

I like Glossier as well - their skin perfecting tint is really good and similar effect to Trinny BB cream but with probably a bit more coverage.

Grandadwasthatyou · 22/09/2021 11:44

Don't rate it at all. Succumbed to the Facebook hype and spent £100. Nobody even noticed the difference when I used the BFF and I find the pots difficult to access when I have slightly longer nails.
So to sum up I wouldn't waste your money. In my humble opinion!

Charles Saatchi is a shareholder, which puts me right off having anything to do with the company #teamNigella

WildFlowerBees · 22/09/2021 12:06

I love her BFF it's the only thing I use, I use all my TL makeup on cheeks lips and eyes I don't care if it says blusher or eyes only, the formulation is the same just more or less pigment. There's so many choices now and some are so similar that I find I can use a blush as an eyeshadow and a lip with a bit of gloss over the top.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 22/09/2021 12:17

I've put the BFF on today for the first time in ages and my skin looks lovely (plus I think I may have covid so not in the best of health!!) I guess it works differently for different people.

ShrikeAttack · 22/09/2021 14:58

Hah @Divebar2021, I only use Chantecaille and Hourglass these days, with the odd bit of Laura Mercier and Nars. I really rate Chantecaille, their tinted moisturiser, concealer pens and cream blush are amazing.

peachgreen · 22/09/2021 16:48

@Cuddlemuffin I've just taken the plunge and signed up to Dermatica - thanks for being the final push I needed! My skin is getting dreadful as I age and I really just need someone to tell me what to do with it!

Divebar2021 · 22/09/2021 16:53

Envy Very definitely envious. Lol. My friend gave me a Chantecaille tinted moisturiser (Just skin) because she got the wrong colour …. I didn’t realise how expensive it was until I went for a replacement. I do have a primer by Hourglass and an Ambient lighting powder though which are great. If I can cut back on the clothes I can probably justify buying a bit more but my new rule is I must have finished something up before I buy again. ( it’s a tough rule to keep)
