Shibumi dressing gown anyone?

I've been lusting after these for ages but I can't find details of length. I'm 5ft1 so I guess they would be too long? Anyone lucky enough to own one who could tell me please?
I did buy a beautiful gown from Toast but it was just ridiculously huge and made me look like a little girl dressing up in her mum's things

You won’t be disappointed with anything from Shibumi, the quality is amazing, I have a silk and cashmere coat I bought when I was Matron of Honour at my mum’s wedding. The Princess Royal wore Shibumi at Chelsea Flower Show this week.

Shibumi dressing gown anyone?
@Bluntness100 I bought that very one, off the back of a MN thread. I can confirm that it is utterly gorgeous Grin. I got a large, which is fine for a 14/16 but I reckon would be a bit small on an 18 - you wouldn't have that generous wrappage at the front that you need to feel really cosy and stop you flashing your tits at the postman

It's long - nearly floor length on me (5'7")
Thanks, I keep telling myself I can’t buy a 255 quid dressing gown I don’t even wear them but it’s sitting in my cart,,they are so gorgeous,

Grellbunt · 24/09/2021 20:32

Pemmican · 24/09/2021 20:33

Pemmican · 24/09/2021 20:34

*sway, fucksake

CMOTDibbler · 24/09/2021 20:44

@Grellbunt discount code you say? Tell me more

Grellbunt · 24/09/2021 20:45

Oh just the 10% newsletter one but don't forget it! I'm not aware of others (unfortunately!)

Grellbunt · 24/09/2021 20:47

They do have a sale section too...

Doubleraspberry · 24/09/2021 20:48

So, do I click on this link? DH wants ideas for my birthday next month but I do have a very nice plaid brushed cotton dressing gown from Toast already that makes me feel like I go to Malory Towers and am attending a midnight feast.

CMOTDibbler · 24/09/2021 20:48

Just checking! DH has just bought a nehru waistcoat as he loves my dragonfly long jacket so much

No news letter sadly but the dressing gown is now in my basket. 😱

Grellbunt · 24/09/2021 21:42

No, you must sign up for the newsletter!!!!

Bluntness100 · 24/09/2021 22:16

Ooh you’re right! Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Orcadianrythyms · 25/09/2021 11:28

Well, I've just bought one - this page is so dangerous. Had been swithering over the advent threads and have justified this purchase by swapping out for a dressing gown. Much more practical!!!!

OxanaVorontsova · 25/09/2021 11:33

If you’re after something less £££ but still gorgeous I can recommend 100 stars

Deux · 25/09/2021 11:43

If anyone’s looking for an unusual dressing gown, google search ‘kantha dressing gown’. I have one I’ve had for years and it’s reversible. Made from recycled cotton saris and kantha stitched. It’s also warm. Lots on places like Etsy and overinflated prices on Toast.

Not slinky though.

IloveJudgeJudy · 25/09/2021 13:04

I'm not interested in their dressing gowns as I'm far too short but their cashmere scarves look really beautiful. I'm going to put one on my Xmas present lid but which colour to buy?

SophieShibumi · 09/11/2021 16:26

Hi ladies,

I hope this is okay to post. I work for Shibumi and just wanted to say if you have any questions about fit or fabric etc please do contact us via the website. We are always happy to help, and truly believe in finding styles for everyone no matter your shape or size.

The lengths aren't on the website as they vary by size so we found it less confusing for customers if we left it off and dealt with sizing requests on an individual basis.

Much love,
Sophie

SophieShibumi · 15/12/2021 14:55

Hi ladies!

I just wanted to pop on and let you know that Shibumi has 15% off the whole website for the next week! We never do this much discount on current stuff as we also give 10% of all sales to charity but thought it worth a mention as I know a few of you were after our dressing gowns!

Much love x

mscynical · 17/12/2021 15:47

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered something I had my eyes on for some time last night. Can't wait for it to arrive.

I always buy myself something for Christmas* (not normally this expensive) but at least I will have something wonderful this year!

*Got into the habit as ex husband never got me anything Smile

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 17/12/2021 15:55

Never heard of Shibumi before but they are beautiful. Only thing, what about washing? Can't see directions. I chuck my towelling gown in to the washing machine monthly. Don't suppose you can do that with these beauties can you?

WineAway · 17/12/2021 18:56

I wish I could order but I’m in Ireland & customs charges are huge…maybe I could make a trip in the new year.
