Foot peel hell

I did my first foot peel 3 weeks ago. Great yet disgusting!! I have so much loose skin just hanging off of the heels, toes everything!! It sort of looks like pva glue. It makes me feel sick to touch it. How do I get rid of it? I can't pull at it or cut it with scissors, too squeamish... Any advice appreciated!

Wear socks to bed and it will all come off in the sock overnight.

You aren't meant to pull or cut it off! You could make your skin really sore by doing so.

WellTidy · 20/09/2021 23:07

Soak your feet in the bath. Stay in for as long as you can - an hour would be great. The skin will fall off in there. Nice!

mamakoukla · 20/09/2021 23:07

Soak your feet; helps the peeling. If the skin is too dry it kind of stays more stuck on

mysterybag · 20/09/2021 23:09

Yes I did one of these earlier this summer. Soaking your feet helps massively

Nopetryagain · 20/09/2021 23:10

Thanks all. Have been wearing socks in bed and soaking them in the bath. Just seem to have (sorry for being gross) sort of skin wings on the outer circumference of the peel ... Can't get rid of them :(

I am week 4 into mine and I now have a couple of dry patches on my heels. I would certainly not do one in the summer again! I didn't realise the peeling would be as bad.

NapoleonOzmolysis · 21/09/2021 20:24

You need to walk barefoot on a sandy beach.

Puffalicious · 21/09/2021 20:25

Ooooh, which one would you folks recommend? I fancy this!

Isabelle70 · 21/09/2021 20:59

@Puffalicious mine was a £1 from the local chemist, all I can remember is a pale green packaging Smile

Nopetryagain · 21/09/2021 22:53

A walk on the beach would be perfect, sadly too far...

@Puffalicious link here, don't say you weren't warned!! www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B083P54Y39?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

There’s a tea tree one in B and M for £1. I’m still peeling weeks later

Puffalicious · 22/09/2021 00:26

Oooh I'm excited!

Housewife2010 · 22/09/2021 14:12

I've used Footner several times. Once it starts peeling, baths will help to quicken the process. Have a soak, take your foot out of the bath and give it a scrub with a dry flannel. Do the other one, soak again and repeat. I find that this speeds up the process.

Puffalicious · 22/09/2021 23:22

Thanks Housewife

Savetheplanet · 23/09/2021 07:03

Go to a podiatrist who will gently sand it all down.

ArcheryAnnie · 23/09/2021 12:57

A word of warning: I did one and it was fine, really good. The one I did the following year, the chemicals in the plastic "sock" burned all the tender skin on the top of my feet and toes, and ot was painful and red for weeks. If I did it again, I'd put vaseline on all the skin which I didn't want peeling away!

Nopetryagain · 24/09/2021 10:00

My feet are still peeling, it looks like they have been in a shredder!! It's beyond grim but some of the tips here have really helped, thank you!

I found a foot mask had the same effect but immediate with no peeling skin. Bought it in the pound shop.
