Yes or no? I think yes but friends have said no.

Jesus, I read that as husband when over 35. Nah, don't bother. Headband is a yes though 👍

BelleOfTheProvince · 20/09/2021 20:09

I wear those big chunky fabric ones occasionally. I can never get them to stay put though and I always end up with my ears poking weirdly out!

SpeckledyHen · 20/09/2021 20:10

If they suit you then it’s a yes.

ambereeree · 20/09/2021 20:32

@BelleOfTheProvince I have coarse hair so mine stays put!

adrianmolesmole · 20/09/2021 20:43

As long as it's not one of those goddawful sloaney padded ones c. 1980s!

TheCategoryIs · 20/09/2021 20:44

What happens at such a specific age to render headbands unwearable?

ManifestingJoy · 20/09/2021 20:45

No to headbands.

stealingbeauty · 20/09/2021 21:38

I think after a certain age (not sure what age though...) it looks more Ann Widdecombe and less Cher from Clueless. Depends on the look you’re going for though.

AuntieStella · 20/09/2021 21:41

I think it's better to go by your mirror, not the number of candies on your last birthday cake

And the correct answer to what wome over 30 should wear is:

Whatever The Fuck She Wants

goose1964 · 20/09/2021 22:46

I have one similar to this except it has beads and stones, I'm way over 35 and I get compliments on it

CleopatrasBeautifulNose · 20/09/2021 22:57

My mid 40's friend wears them, they really go with her look.

LouNatics · 20/09/2021 23:00

I am over 35 and wear headbands for running, for sleep, and when doing dirty jobs like painting. I guess I wear them functionally as they are possibly intended, to keep hair back from the face or covered.

I don’t wear them as a fashion choice as the scraped back look is too severe for me, if I had a nice fringe or a pixie cut I’d wear them though.

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 20/09/2021 23:00

I have a couple (when my hair is long enough) and they look the biz. I don't do the padded ones tho.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 20/09/2021 23:04

I wear them all the time and am 45. Broken too many pairs of sunglasses using them to push hair off my face!

OuiOuiBonjour · 20/09/2021 23:07

I wear them and I'm 37. I wear the thickish headwrap style ones or the type with a knot in, usually in quite bold patterns. My favourites are a black and white polkadot knotted one and a gorgeous monsoon one which is a thick cream linen one with emerald green and lime hand beading - it's really gorgeous.

I can't imagine why anyone would care. 35 isn't exactly elderly is it?!

Jumpingintosummer · 21/09/2021 00:23

I wear them at nearer 40. I prefer this style but have them in a variety of colours and fabrics plus beaded and jewelled.

LoveFall · 21/09/2021 00:31

Why not? I wear them and I am over 60. It keeps my fine hair out of my face when cooking etc.

LaBellina · 21/09/2021 00:43

Depends on the type of headband. Cute, pink and glittery? No.
I bought my friend a dark blue velvet one a few days ago and I think it’s very chic and can be worn at any age.

FortunesFave · 21/09/2021 05:32

I had a wonderful leather one with a buckle on the side when I was about 38. I'm over 40 now...it was fabulous.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/09/2021 09:19

Oh dear, I wore one to a wedding last month just before I turned 35 and then again just after Wink I've got 2 casual ones as well. I don't wear them loads, but one is red satin so I'll probably wear it at Christmas.

Brollywasntneededafterall · 21/09/2021 09:21

I am 50 and have one. My teen dd says I can wear what I want!
So I do!!

ambereeree · 21/09/2021 13:30

@goose1964 that's gorgeous

I love a preppy look so love mine. Thank you all for showing me yours.

It depends as I met a 32 year old lately who looked 22 so it's not clean cut

Floisme · 21/09/2021 16:00

Essential - they help keep my hair net and rollers in place.
