Cocktail/poshish dinner dress

I’m going for dinner at Tour d’Argent in Paris in a couple of weeks. It’s a business function - DH is the “special” guest. Two of the other ladies going are French, chic, elegant. I don’t want to underwhelm 🙄🤣. Can someone help find me a wonderful dress… size 16, 5’9”, hourglass with boobs but like to hide midriff. Budget up to £400ish.

@Sexnotgender thank you for this - I had a Bombshell dress and sold it without ever wearing it. I’m quite short waisted and whilst I love the look of them it didn’t seem to do anything for me

@Sex wowsers - lovely dresses. Love the Mikael but not sure if long is too OTT? The chiara ones are fab too. What is a scuba dress? Is the fabric like neoprene?? That last one is divine but yes a little too bold for the occasion - but I LOVE it! You have exquisite taste!!

I would suggest a trip to John Lewis, book a personal shopper, I think it's back running. Understated elegance is the look you need to compete with chic French women.

It’s a variation of neoprene but not actually neoprene. It’s a thick smooth fabric with a little stretch.

I was looking for something understated in navy or black but wolf and badger have some lovely less understated things.
