What kind of cover up/coat/jacket with this dress?

I need help please MN!

I can just about squeeze into this dress 5 years on - keen to wear it for an upcoming 40th this weekend but I have no suitable cover up. Any ideas what I can wear with it or should I leave it to hotter days?

Bearing in mind I've worn it once and it cost over £300 (self portrait dress) so very keen to get another wear out of it!

It's a lovely dress. I'd choose something really simple and understated with a long line to highlight the detail of the dress. This is an old picture so no longer in stock unfortunately, but something like this

Is it just to arrive at the venue? If so I'd go leather biker jacket and then whip it off and show off the gorgeous dress once you're through the door!

Brill thanks all! It's inside (the party) this weekend so I guess about 19/20 degrees but nippy at night. Might have a short walk to venue so would like something to ensure I don't freeze.

Love the all saints (sadly out of stock) long cardi thing so will have a browse - honestly nothing i own works with it! Pashmina a good idea too
