How to keep curls in fine hair?

I have fine frizzy hair that I wear straight most of the time.

Im trying to learn how to curl it with my straighteners and I've managed to get some lovely curls but they drop out very quickly.

What could I use on my hair to help keep the curls in place?

I find mousse works best but it's really how you treat the curls.

They need to cool before you touch them or let them hang. try pinning them up with big clips (the sort that dont leave dents or crimp marks.

Then, when cool, spray with hair spray.

Mine last a good six to eight hours like this. Not easy on long hair though (past armpit level).
