Fine knit jumper on a budget?

AbandonedCharacter · 19/09/2021 15:39

Any suggestions where to look for a fine knit jumper? In natural fabrics? I have spotted some lovely ones but not on my budget unfortunately.

I found a fab navy Merino wool, v-neck one from M&S years ago (Autograph reduced to clear!) that I have worn to death. Ideally its replacement will be similar - longer-line with a V or round neck and not in polyester. Has anyone come across something like this?

Any pointers much appreciated.

Uniqlo all the way. I bought the crew neck in grey recently, really pleased with it.

I second Uniqlo! Lovely jumpers, good colour choices and they wash well too!

BreakfastOfWaffles · 19/09/2021 16:17

I came on the say Uniqlo as well! Their fine knits are a really nice weight and wash well on the woollen setting in the machine.

TheBitterBoy · 19/09/2021 16:19

Uniqlo! I have loads of their extra fine merino jumpers and cardigans, they last for years, can be machine washed on the wool cycle and look as good as new.

Oh, they're lovely! Thank you so much!

What is the dining like? Does Uniqlo run small or large or do you just take your usual size?

Would say they are true to size

Dozer · 19/09/2021 16:23

Good idea for a thread!

Am another coming on to say uniqlo

ThankYouDebbie · 19/09/2021 17:03

I got the small, I'm normally a 10 in tops, sometimes 8.

cannaethink · 19/09/2021 17:11

I find them quite small fitting, I’m a 10 and wear the medium. I’ve also got a small but I do find it a bit tight. Perfect if that’s what you want though!
Gap merino tops are better imo, and there’s always a 40% code floating about.

And me!

Check the mássimo dutti men's fine knits. Really nice and they tend to come up quite small on the guys. I'm a 12 and a size s fits me nicely with a t shirt underneath.

JaceLancs · 19/09/2021 21:51

Tkmaxx have some good knitwear at the moment
Massimo dutti stuff for under £20
Plenty of merino items

MrsPear · 19/09/2021 23:20

Men’s m & s are good too

Spikeyplants · 19/09/2021 23:25

I've seen cashmere and fine knits at tesco and asda too. One from asda bought 2yrs ago is still soft and lovely.

MrsMaizel · 20/09/2021 02:00

Have bought the Uniqlo for years but recently have found they get holes in easily . They run small .

Pheasantlysurprised · 20/09/2021 02:52

Uniqlo are shit.

Gufo · 20/09/2021 07:25

I prefer the m&s merino jumpers to the uniqlo ones. They're £29.50 and they do a range of styles and colours.

hugoagogo · 20/09/2021 07:40

I love uniqlo, but prefer esprit for knitwear.

AbandonedCharacter · 20/09/2021 17:02

Thanks for all the suggestions. Being on the large size, I'll check the men's jumpers too!

Uniqlo, I think the quality is really good l, especially the cashmere

Jarstastic · 21/09/2021 09:08

Pure cashmere has a fine knit. Sign up and you should get a voucher.

catfunk · 21/09/2021 22:48
