Does anyone with curly hair on here have a pixie cut?

I’ve currently got shoulder length curls and fancy a change.

Any advice?

I have just taken the plunge and wish I had done it years ago!!!

I honestly feel like a new woman, and I have had nothing but compliments.

I'm 42 and I think shorter hair makes me look a bit more youthful and less knackered. It also takes minutes to wash, condition and style.

And I'm really happy that my extensive earrings collection is finally on display, too!

Yes!! That’s what I need to hear😂 I’m 39 and just Chuck my hair up in a bun as I can’t be arsed with sorting it.

I'm 42 as well and seriously considering going short again. Not quite a pixie cut but short back and sides with lots of curly volume on top - think Pink (the singer). I've currently got shoulder length curls too and have had for about 2 years. I'm bored of it but it takes so bloody long to grow out again which is why I'm giving it serious thought!

AntennaReborn · 19/09/2021 10:25

That's exactly what it was like for me! I'd let my hair get way too long during the successive lockdowns, and I got really sick of buns, plaits, headbands, scrunchies etc.

I've been trying to work out how to PM pictures, but I don't think I can? I don't mind showing you a before and after but I don't really want my mug on the main thread 😂

Sexnotgender · 19/09/2021 10:26

Don’t worry about sending pictures, thank you though.

I love this!

Lottapianos · 19/09/2021 11:12

Absolutely love that! Go for it 👍

MrsFionaCharming · 19/09/2021 11:14

I’ve got pretty much that exact hair. It’s so easy to style, and random people stop me in the supermarket to tell me how much they like it which never happened when I had long hair!

notlongtillxmas · 19/09/2021 11:32

Gorgeous ! I also have an undercut pixie but it's not curly
Love it !

Beebopawhop · 19/09/2021 11:39

love it @Sexnotgender!
I would love to be brave enough, I am also 39! always a bun, plait at front boring clips so boring, go for it!!

I’d love that hairstyle so if you’re confident your hair will look like that, go for it!

I have wavy hair and I tend to keep it just past shoulder length. I had it cut to a short bob a while back, thinking it’d be cute, bouncy and low maintenance. It wasn’t as none of my usual scrunch/twist and air dry techniques worked and I ended up having to tong it or plait it overnight to get the wavy bob I’d imagined. Way too much effort for my liking so I grew it out :(

Somewhereoverthesea · 19/09/2021 11:50

Oh my goodness. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this thread!
I currently have a fine crop of iron grey chemo curls and have been just sort of sitting it out whilst they keep growing - I look like I’ve had a shampoo and set at the moment. I’m obviously incredibly grateful that I have hair again (& eyebrows, eyelashes etc…!) but it is so far removed from what I used to look like that I just haven’t known what to do, so I’ve done nothing!

Images saved and I’m booking an appointment with my hairdresser asap 😊

This is my hair right now. I think it’ll be ok?

Yay! Glad I could be of help.

Hopefully a bit more shape gets rid of the shampoo and set look.

Oh yes, you have lovely curls - much tighter than mine. I think this cut will look lovely on you.

Beebopawhop · 19/09/2021 12:36

Your curls are gorgeous and the colour! I have similar curls too. At the end of the day it will always grow if need be! Look forward to the after pics!
