New to lipstick

I have recently discovered that I quite like wearing lipstick. However, I do have a few fine lines around my lips and the colour bleeds into them and I found it wore off on the part of my lips that are close to touching. How can I stop this happening please? I know there are tips online and products available to purchase but I don’t have the budget for to many mistakes so would love to hear your personal experiences on what works for you. Thanks very much.

  1. Prep your lips correctly. This shouldn’t involve any expensive products. But making sure your lips are exfoliated (I use a toothbrush, I know people who use brown sugar and olive oil) and smooth is the first step. Don’t do this right before you apply lipstick though because your lips will be too slippery/oily and your lipstick will slide right off!

  2. a lip liner, same shade as your lipstick, under your whole lip. Helps with bleeding and areas where the lipstick rubs off easily.

  3. If it’s within your budget: www.makeupforever.com/hk/en/lips/lipliner/lip-line-perfector-M16912.html
You apply it outside your lips and it completely stops the bleeding.

Brilliant, thank you I would never have thought to put lipliner on my whole lip.
