The Perfect Jeans

Do they exist? I hate buying jeans. They always make me feel fat but I'd quite like a pair for autumn/winter. I'm 5'3, size 12 with quite a juicy butt to squeeze into a pair. I hate skinny, so maybe straight? I don't know. I hate buying them. I hate that look you get from the sales assistant if you dare to mention your waist size and it's not 26.

I hated wearing jeans for so long because I could never find the right pair, I recently got a pair of 'mom' jeans from M&S, they are the best jeans I've had, so comfortable!

I'm the same but I went to M&S last week (in desperation!) and tried on every style they had in my size. I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple that fitted and suited me. I second the recommendation for Mom jeans - high waists are fantastic and a very welcome change from skinnies and low waists!

I ordered some M&S ones! I ordered two different colours so I hope they fit. Now if only they had an elasticated waist...Grin

I've literally never been in a situation where I've disclosed my size to an assistant or them be involved at all. Surely you just take a few sizes/styles in a changing room (now they're open again, and prior) and discard what doesn't fit. Or order online and return.

As someone who used to work in retail I can attest that in the nicest possible way nobody is looking at what you take in or even clocking anything about you, or the size. At a size 12 you're world away from 'fat' OP, I bet you look much better in jeans than you think.

I really like Primarks vintage Slim straight leg, cheap and a really nice flattering cut that is more up to date than a skinny. Otherwise the Stradivarius slim mom are similar but with more stretch and more colour options. Both very affordable and worth a try- the primark ones are £15 and the Stardivarius 19.99.

Stuffragette · 17/09/2021 22:31

They both sound great. I have a Primark down the road so will go try some on. Normally in Primark I buy a couple of sizes up. Do you need to do that in their jeans @dontgobaconmyheart ?

I came on to say M&S ‘Mom’ jeans too! I bought a pair this week and they fit perfectly.

M and S sienna straight are my favourites. Very cheap and super comfy.

I just wouldn't buy any if I didnt like them or feel my best in them, regardless what everyone else does.
